PurplePride92 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Heard this is a done deal. Can anyone confirm this? I hope it is true. I could be mistaken but I think Casey County was his first head coaching job and he had good success there considering how the program was when he took over. Hopefully he will stick around this time and get the Casey County program back on track. This is a great hire by Casey County.

plantmanky Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Makes sense now, this must have been in the works for a while.
BEChargers Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 This is not the reason the previous coach was let go........
gridiron guy Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Why was the previous coach let go? I thought he did a very good job at Casey County.
PurplePride92 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Why was the previous coach let go? I thought he did a very good job at Casey County. Sam Marple. He did do a very good job at Casey County.
Wildcat18 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 This is not the reason the previous coach was let go........ What was that reason? Maybe not THE reason, but I would bet a lot of money they were talking to Stonebraker before Marple was let go. He did just as good at Casey as Stonebraker did his first stint if I'm not mistaken.

Don't know him well, but has always seemed to be an stand-up guy from what I have heard.

The writing on the wall was that Marple wasn't coming back as head coach next season. It was like the dirty-little-not-so-secret.

GCHS Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Gotcha... Not knowing the behind-the-scenes, it seems Marple kind of got hosed - although, I think Stoney is a good hire.

This is kind of where my head was at. My initial comment wasn't necessarily based on Stonebraker and what kind of guy he he is, it was based on what I had seen (or not seen) out of the administration. It's just odd to me that head coaches come back around full circle. Especially a former coach who had similar success as the one that they just let go at Casey.
PurplePride92 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Gotcha... Not knowing the behind-the-scenes, it seems Marple kind of got hosed - although, I think Stoney is a good hire. There are some who feel Marple got hosed but they also knew the realization of his chances to remain as head coach were slim to none. At the same time Stoney was their first choice to replace Marple so it is a bittersweet win for some people in Casey County.
