  1. I remember the Highlands cannon going off after every score.
  2. Fifteen Days until 1st Scrimmage!!
  3. Looks like another rough ride with this schedule!
  4. The halftime score was 42-21. It was a remarkable performance offensively. Beau Hoge had 5 TD's but the biggest kudos go to the defense that gave up 42 in the first half and then hung a goose egg on Owensboro in the second.
  5. Great job Brennan! Thank you for all of your broadcasts; living a long way from Fort Thomas you have helped me stay in touch with the community I lived in for over 70 years.
  6. Highlands also is slated to play at Elder!
  7. WOW what a schedule. I am excited for what this has the potential to be.
  8. Exciting game to watch but also frustrating that there is no shot clock. The first overtime was like watching grass grow with Holy Cross just holding the ball and making no attempt to run a play or attempt to score. Felt like a throwback to what girls basketball was for years...boring.
  9. I think Paul Brown said it best, “Act like you’ve been there before.”
  10. I’m not trying to make a controversy either but I agree with your assessment. My point is he needs to be more than a backup QB and a holder.
  11. I think Coach Sphire has done a very good job in bringing the program back. Are there things he could do better? Sure. But then again that could be said about all of us. Highlands should have several goals this off season: 1) Become a more disciplined football team and eliminate the needless penalties brought about by players using their mouths on the field and taunting. That type of behavior is counter productive. 2) Develop the wide receivers since they lost Surrey and Arnold to name a couple. 3) Find a way to use the tremendous ability of Cale Harris on a regular basis. 4) Reload the offensive and defensive lines. 5) Find more speed and height in the defensive backfield.
  12. Congratulations! Win it all!
  13. I remember ever single Championship and would love to add another to my resume this year! It was good the years in Louisville and all the ones in Bowling Green but there is a magical feel going to the home field of Kentucky in Lexington. Go Birds!
  14. The difference in the first game which Cooper won by 3 was the opening kickoff which the Jags returned for a TD and a 7 point lead which took about 10 seconds off the clock. The rest of the game was as close to even as one can get; without that opening return it would have been a 4 point game the other way. If Highlands wins some would call it an upset but not me. Go Birds!
  15. If UK commits to Boley and gives him all the first team reps this week then I am all in pn Kentucky!
  16. Bluebird replied to Jumper_Dad's topic in College Football
    Outstanding!
  17. Always the optimist: 4 Ryle Highlands Covington Catholic Beechwood
  18. I am so glad that we play the game on the field! Let’s go Birds!
  19. Great broadcast by Brennan Bucher; great four years on air for that young man.
  20. This is the broadcast to watch; terrific audio done by great students.
  21. This was a great example of playing with grit for Kentucky. I am excited about the ability of this team to be among the best in the country. They exhibited their grit again in a very physical and tough game against Purdue Fort Wayne when they had to go to the bench for a spark from Kentucky native Cassidy Rowe.
  22. Woodford announcers are pitiful. They do not know the rules and are blaming either the refs or Highlands players for imaginary penalties.
  23. Let’s go Bird’s. Stay focused.
