Very true about hitting Newcath had a soph that lead them in hitting this year. I think Highlands and Newcath are very similar in teams Highlands don't hit either the only two players had all thier hits Whitford and Ramey outside of that it drops a little Murray can hurt you also. Last night was Highlands best game they played all year on the D. IMO

Winning the district is great but it don't guaranteed you a better draw. Yes it was great for Highlands Baseball, but if you would ask the players winning the region is a whole lot better. NewCath has won 3 out 5 regions in the past five years do you think if they didn't they would say well atleast we won district come on. I'm fans of both Schools have friends and both Coach B wants to win the big one. And to say NewCath is not better this year then last year you are crazy they are good. Good Luck to both Teams next week

Great win for Highlands. This game last night don't mean nothing remember last year be careful whst you say Sweepboy don't won't to wake a team up that is already motivated from a serious injury to one of their best players. Win the game that matters the region not the district.

Good point. I think what nky91 is saying we all know Highlands is a football power house every year and if they play Newcath they would beat them. There are some years Newcath can stay in game with Highlands but likely would lose. I love watching Highlands football. That said whens the last time Highlands beat NewCath in Basketball I have friends that kids go to Newcath they don't get on bluegrasspreps and talk like NewCath is the best basketball team on earth. Heck if Newcath wanted to they could of beat Highlands last year in regular season by 90. Lets just be happy that Highlands and Newcath are doing great things in sports and most importantly in school work.

I agree with you on Pangallo that's why I put him coming off the bench. IMO he is the second best point guard in the 9th. Would love to see him and Bolden play together that would be fun to watch.

Pangallo would be 6th man off my bench. Kid can play and will be more to look for in scoring this upcoming year from people I talk to no one gives this kid credit on his defense also. He is a strong kid and looks like he is about 6 ft now saw him at Highlands baseball game if he wasn't a stud baseball player he would of played Aau ball with the Travalers 16u team that McDonald plays on he practice with them before season and love how he plays the game.

Great to see these kids from NKY do well. Fogle batting .483 and the Soph Pangallo batting . 522 that's pretty impressive by Pangallo NewCath has played a very tough schedule also. Looks like Tiberi is starting to hit to but Holy Cross schedule is not that strong but he can play Good Luck to these boys and the rest of the kids the rest of the season should be a great regional tourney.

I agree with you nkybball13 it must me some mad parent or COACH in the system that's making this statement about the seniors they have one underclassmen that is playing and that kid is a great athlete and should be playing. Cain and Bartels are studs Grau is a baseball player. Keep up the good work boys like I said in a earlier post except when you play Highlands. Lol

Walter this is a great come back on McDonald you hit it right on the button the kid makes shots. Been watching Drew play now for a long time and the kid pints the ball in the basket. Love the kid and his parents. Newcath is lucky to have McDonald and the Pangallo kid. I heard from sources that if the Pangallo kid wasn't playing baseball that the Travalers were going to pick him on the 16u team don't know if that was true or not. Both these kids play aau with my son and both parents coach my son learn a lot from these two. Great Family's

Those seniors know's what it takes to win they have done it for the past 2 years and add to the mix one of the best Soph Athlete in Northern Kentucky in Pangallo looks like they are ready for another serious run for the 9th in baseball. Coach Jeff knows what he is doing the guy has won 3 out of 5 regional's in the past 5 years.

Congrats Newcath on advancing to the elite 8 in the All A State. Cain and Bartels are solid. Pangallo boy is a stud and only a soph. Congrats to Coach Jeff and the staff and players represent the 9th in All A State.

1956 was last time Newcath won state. Won 20 regional titles and is second all time in the state of kentucky in baseball state championships. You can go to Khsaa website to look at it.

Here is my Q for you Walter. Can Bolden guard Hawkins. My answer no and really Bolden is not a good defender watch a lot of his games this year that's what he has to improve on over the offseason. Now for his offense he is the best of the best. If he wants to play at a high level D1 he needs to be able to guard cause we all know Defense wins games.

Congrats to Mr. Bolden on offers I'm sure more to come also. But to sit there and say that he will be a better college player then Hawkins is a dumb statement. Hawkins has proven himself for 4 years in high school Bolden has 2 more years and had a unreal year and remember both these kids played on a real good teams they couldn't of done what they did without teammates. I hope both of these boys prove everyone wrong and have nice careers in Sports.

Great Kid and a honor student also keep it up Zach except when you play Highlands lol. Scary part is he is only a soph.

We are about 3 to 4 weeks into high school baseball season who is the best hitter so far in the 9th region.

Just saying NewCath is starting to play good baseball and so is Highlands. NewCath and Highlands have a lot of kids back from last year and until someone beats Newcath in the 9th region tourney I will consider them as my #1 or #2 and by the way Newcath smoked Beechwood and you have them # 3
