Many players from Northern Kentucky are getting athletic scholarship money to play in college. "Full rides" are not very common for soccer but partial scholarships are not.

Came up short. Score was 1-0, but I don't have any details.

Congratulations to the KHA U16's, they are very deserving of this championship! I heard that the U14's came up short, the U18 final will be played Monday night because some of the KHA team had graduation ceremony's to attend.

Also touching to see the young man holding on to the ball at the end of the game, I suspect to give it to Beau when they shake hands.

I agree, indoor is practice at best. In my opinion it does more harm than good because it is basically semi-controlled ciaos.

I believe the agreement is, if they play in the All A then they may drop the regular season match up from the schedule. At least that is the way it goes in soccer.

The game is at Ryle isn't it? If so, yes that guy is the worst announcer ever. Well, except for the guy at Tates Creek.

St Henry has 7 seniors. They also have a very talented Jr class that is getting a lot of varsity experience this year.

Should have been a red card. Eibel had moved well in front of the defender, in the box with the ball at his feet and the kid reached out and grabbed his jersey and pulled him down. I have seen players sent off for much less obvious denial of a goal scoring opportunity.

Natalie Vaught from St. Henry plays at Indiana State and Lauren Bennett from Walton is at South Dakota. I know of many others, both men and women playing at other collegiate levels.

I don't think St Henry is getting enough credit here, this a is a good team. After a slow start, the Crusaders made some adjustments and went out and played some good soccer. It actually (for the most part) was good soccer on both sides. St Henry had chances as did the Bluebirds, but I think the St Henry defense was very good and kept the Bluebirds from getting off many high percentage shots. I know the Crusaders didn't get all of the preseason buzz that other teams did but they have very good young talent and good coaching. They went out last night and did what they had to do, defeated a good team....

I disagree. There is quite a bit of talent in the Junior class this year, and some schools sophomore classes aren't too shabby either. Most teams will be young, but I think the skill that is out there will surprise many of you nay-sayers.

Some schools use them as a scrimmage, some do not. Many teams bring along a good number of JV players, and let them play. I don't think many coaches are going to show all their cards at Soccerrama.

Did some searching, can't find one. All I know is that it is at Campbell County and St. Henry plays Scott on August 9th @8

It's a soccer practice field, not a game field and it was done because the soccer teams were practicing in a clearing in the woods over at Christo Rey or any open field they could find. The soccer program gets very little from the athletic department because they don't ask for it. Much of what they have comes from the hard work of the teams, coaches and parents. The baseball team has a very nice facility, that is very well taken care of. . .. I am sure if the program went to the athletic department with a need they would be listened to. To get on here and bash successful programs sounds more like sour grapes on your part than a reasonable argument on why the baseball team is on their 4th coach in 4 years.

They are crazy if they think they can find someone with more basketball knowledge than Brian Coburn. It's a shame because he was totally committed to the kids and that program. I can not believe the powers that be allowed one family to cause this to happen......No I take that back, I can...

The top level teams from the clubs merged last year so it only makes sense to merge everyone else.

It really bothers me that people get on here and soccer bash. Any sport that has a club or travel aspect to it makes the same requests of its athletes. And most, if not all will tell you up front that at a certain competition level the athlete is expected to make the club sport their priority. It is not something you are blind sided with after the fact. I hate that kids have to choose, it has affected my kids, they have had to give up playing sports they had played all of their lives. Frankly, it was much harder on us than it was on them. They made their choices and went on with life. If you don't want your kids to have to make a choice there are options out there. Is 7th grade a little early? Maybe it is but unfortunately it is the nature of the beast.
