Birds lay an egg after nice win on Tuesday.

Highlands looked like all state the first 15 or 20 minutes and then they seemed to lose some speed. SH made a nice run late in the first half coming from behind 1-0 to go up 2-1. Highlands moved the ball well late in the second half but couldn't put it in the net. St. Henry bounces back from a loss to Lex Cath.

Surprising result. Curious if HHS had the better of the play and just couldn't score or what happened. 3-1 seems to indicate a fairly easy win for St. Henry but score is not always an indicator of how the game went.

I think CC gave a good summary above Highlands played well early and late. Late part of first half and first part of 2nd half was all St. Henry. St. Henry has always been well coached.

I don't think St Henry is getting enough credit here, this a is a good team. After a slow start, the Crusaders made some adjustments and went out and played some good soccer. It actually (for the most part) was good soccer on both sides. St Henry had chances as did the Bluebirds, but I think the St Henry defense was very good and kept the Bluebirds from getting off many high percentage shots.

 

I know the Crusaders didn't get all of the preseason buzz that other teams did but they have very good young talent and good coaching. They went out last night and did what they had to do, defeated a good team....
