This kid is AWESOME! The first time I heard him two years ago, I was walking into the gym and thought it was some kind of prerecorded message. Then I see him talking. I was really blown away. Very top notch. Kudos to him.

During my time in high school in the early to mid 80s, we had a coach that demanded that baskets not be announced. So with that, during boys games, we only did starting lineups. With girls games, we did lineups, baskets, fouls and the rest. A side note, he didn't last the whole season. There were more issues with him than his PA demands. Personally, I prefer the PA person to do starting lineups, made baskets, substitutions, fouls and who is at the line. I don't really like calling the travel or the held ball. I also believe that it's ok for the PA person to be more enthusiastic toward the home team, but it is also important to make sure the visitor names are clearly heard. It is also important to pronounce the names correctly. No kid should hear their name mispronounced all night. It just looks bad on the PA person.

In two games, from what I've seen, it has been business as usual. I'm not upset with that.

The two games I've been to this week have been business as usual for the announcing. No changes at all. I did hear a newspaper writer tell that the POE has been taken to heart in Indiana and they are strongly enforcing it. As fans, the important thing to remember is that there's a chance the PA announcer could be wrong. It's what's in the book that counts.

I'll take Trimble in a close one.

I'll respectfully disagree with you on this. Trimble pulled within 3 in the 3rd before Campbell made a run and then rallied again in the 4th. This game got close...twice.

This was a non issue at the game I attended last night. The announcer did the exact same things as last year. Individual and team fouls were announced, 3 point baskets were announced and so on.

What are some of the rumored changes in the 8th as far as teams coming/going and changing district?

I'm counting 13 for my daughter. The low number is because she had a core of 3 through late elementary and middle school that had that group of girls. Sumrmakesplyrs is among that number.

I would opt for the 6 for all of the reasons listed. I received my 6 yesterday. It replaced the 5 I previously had. You won't be sorry you got the bigger screen. Of course you could always go bigger and go for the 6 Plus...
