To clarify the posted question. This is concerning a block where the runner was maybe 5 to 7 yards directly behind the fb lead block outside the tackle box heading towards the DH sideline. The fb drove the kid to the sideline, released the block prior to the tackle, prior to the whistle and prior to the defender flopping out of bounds. It was clear as day and a bad "judgement" call on a good football play.

With the quality of the officials I have seen, that would be a bad idea. JMO

The flag should not have been thrown. There is no such thing as excessive blocking as far as I know of. Now if it occurred more than 15+ yards away from the ball, then it could possibly be thrown. This block was right in front of the runner and the defensive player was simply over powered by the blocker. Just because it looked bad, doesn't mean a flag should be thrown. Wasn't it the white hat that threw the flag?

7 - 0 ........I would say both defenses had a decent night, with Ryle getting the edge. I heard Cooper frosh team is now without 3 of their top skill kids from that 8th grade squad. The 3 that I know about are definitely playmakers and game changers. keep working with what you got young Jags!

This game had a rough start for the 1st quarter. Once Brown realized Hendrix could not be covered, they dialed in for a clinic. Online did a good job with protection nd opened some good holes for the 1 and 2 running backs. Saw both running backs do some damage tonight, and that's a good thing to know that you have some depth. Would have like to see the young receiver (83), that scored against SK get a few routes in tonight to start building depth at the WR position for later into the season. Good bounce back for the Jaguar squad; still room for improvement.

And you said SK over Cooper by 7 scores or 50+ points, so by your theory, Cooper wins!

I would like to see a little better route combinations with more options to throw to. Didn't see much to Tight End or back out of the backfield. More time to throw would help him as you said, but last night he even missed on some of those. When he has his swagger, he can be in a zone. Hopefully he studies the film and sees his opportunities. I think he has done OK with this being only his 5th game at that position.

I agree. He did not have the game Cooper needed from him tonight. Kid has a strong arm, he needs to trust his decisions, step into his throws, and fire the ball in there when his receivers have a step or two on the dbs'. By the way….that should have been a TD when the Cooper QB reached the ball across the goal line before any part of his body was down. Even heard that from an SK fan.

UK Fan has managed to clone some boneheads on this site when predicting against Cooper. Let the boys play the game and stop all of this childish bickering. Yes, it seems like SK has the better team as of now because of record. But they still have to line up Friday night and execute in order to get the win. Cooper will show up and do what they do as always.

Dang! I set the ignore option, and I still see this virus when I'm trying to read real football knowledge post! I haven't seen CC outside of 7 on 7 (which doesn't tell much), so it will be interesting to see how they really compare to last years team. The Jags had their wake up call last week and think the fire will be there from the start to not let that happen again.

I think I would honestly pay a hefty reward to someone if they could create a "block member" option for this site. Cooper knows they laid an egg against BS and will be ready to bounce back come Friday night.

And again Wow! SK played BS last week, I watched the film and I saw things tonight that I did not see in that SK Game. That, along with a certain SK poster brings them into the game. I don't know where you sit here, nore do I care, but I simply spoke on the perception of the BS performance tonight. If you look at Coopers history, usually they have a defensive answer, and tonight they had none! No hurt feelings here, kids are still healthy, and life goes on. It was just high school football, not World WarIII, why is everyone so worked up over a Cooper loss? Again, it's week 3. Cooper is not picked to win the 6A championship, so they will regroup and get ready for the next opponent. If you care less about Cooper,simply get off this post! If you go back and read previous NCC vs Cooper, and HHS vs Cooper post, very few people "took" it to NCC and Highlands after the wins. Why, because true Jag fans win and loose with pride. No need to brag and boast, just know that on any given Friday night, you can be on either side of that W/L column. Again, a bunch of grown ups over thinking and overreacting to high school football. I love this NKY comedy show!

Wow! Now we have another one. BS is a good football team. Cooper will compete and win in some 6A games this year. Yes, they got taken to the wood shed tonight against BS, but will they give up? heck no. These kids will take the hand they have been dealt and play on. No one expects them to be 6A Champions. Why should they, when they never won 5A? The goal is to be competitive with the best, and tonight they had their best match since the BG State game (which SK has never made it to by the way). There's no excuses for the loss tonight, I have not seen one made other than the other team was better. So all of you BIG TIME talkers, line your boys up for the next battle and see how it turns out. Every dog has his day. I keep saying it's High School football boys, go play,have fun and ignore all of these fat butt couch potato dads that want to jump on you when yo loose a game. They are only wishing they still had you opportunities. Heck, some of them can't even hold a football, never the less talk football strategy. Oops I jumped off track! But you know who you are. Bryan Station is much better than what the SK film showed. I look for this team to be a contender late in the year if teams can't pressure that QB.

6A is a whole different level of numerical talent. Cooper just doesn't have the numbers yet in a "football" aspect. Now, if they can get some of those Golf, Baseball, Bowling, and Basketball players to play, it would be a bit different. All the boys can do is play where they are placed, and do their best. Play to get to the next level after high school, and 6A does that, but Cooper has to have a better showing than what they had tonight. By the way Guru, what are the possibilities of Boone dropping to 5A? (I don't know their numbers, that's why I ask)

Thanks Cooperdad! You pointed out the obvious with you know who! Tonight was a rough night for the Jags, but now everyone is going to say they are overrated and not as good as publicized. That's fine, it's week 3, who knows what can happen, Right? You don't have to win em all, just win when it really counts, which one Independence NKY 6A team is still trying to figure out.

You may say un-impressive, but any time you beat a highland team, it's impressive. They are the NKY epitome of a football program. I don't care if their talent level is down. Kids go to that school just to be a part of the football tradition, so that is an impressive win to beat the Bluebirds for a district locked program. Cooper should already know that 6A is a different level, as Highlands an CC is learning that 5A is a different level. It all boils down to personnel and game plan, if you've got both, you will be at the top of any division.

You didn't comment this much on the beating Campbell County gave your SK DI loaded freshman team. C'mon Man!!!!!!! All you care about is pounding on the losing teams on this site unless it's one of yours. It's comical to read your post and try to put a face to them. So do you have any comments that you can share about how the boys from either team played. I was not there, so please enlighten me.

Was HH scoring on the ground, in the air, or balanced?

Yes, we enjoyed that last year, but let's live in the now.
