I hope the few on the Berea sideline looked across the field and said "that could be us next year". Because that's where Brossart was last year. Hats off to the Pirates. They battled, made some really nice plays, and never gave up despite the numbers. The QB Pumphrey looked good, and is only a junior. Work hard .. better days lie ahead. Well done!

Back to the game...did CC have opportunities to score elsewhere in the game? Did MoCo? All I've heard were "it was physical" and "pinged around in the box". How was the game played?

Who from BB complained about field conditions? That was from a CC parent who was quite effusive in his praise of the Mustangs. He simply stated that he thought the conditions were a detriment to their skill set. Know your facts before you spew this garbage. Good luck to the Camels tonight!

Pleasant is no stranger to the hardwood. He was listed on the Varsity roster two years ago as a sophomore, and I recall him as a JV player who contributed.

At my son's school, he had a teammate quit the futbol team and joined the football team because he knew he wouldn't play much on the pitch; he played futbol on and off and realized he didn't have the skills to garner much playing time, much less start. Currently the starting wide receiver and fastest guy on either team. Which transition is easier?

Not to overstate the obvious, but whoever wins the turnover battle wins the game. BB forced critical turnovers against Nicholas and Ludlow, which proved decisive.

What people fail to realize, is soccer isn't our game. It is an international game governed by an international body (FIFA). It's not up to "us" to change the rules. The NBA/MLB/NFL are American sports; soccer isn't.

@TAC you make some fair points. As I previously stated, I'm not going to try to convince a non-futbol guy. I really don't care if meathead can't appreciate the game. However, you did cross the line on the grass fairy comment. See what I did there?

Anyone who says football requires more of a year round commitment, isnt the parent of a soccer player. I love the game of soccer, but it NEVER ENDS. Of all the sports, it never has an offseason (spring, fall, summer, indoor .. never stops). Trust me..I've dropped off kids at more February outdoor training sessions and been to more Sunday 7am indoor games than I'd care to admit.

Both can coexist. But the football crowd is more concerned/threatened with the futbol crowd than vice versa.

I don't try to defend the sport, because those who are against it will never be swayed. That's fine. EPL is on in my house every Saturday and Sunday, often at the expense of football. The play is fantastic. I LOVE college football, but I can't tell you who is playing Saturday night. But I can tell you US Men's National team is playing Mexico in a critical match to qualify for Confederation Cup, and I'll be tuning in.
