The Indians travel to Scott to pick up a big region win.

Heard that Scott Goalkeeper Seay picked up another red card and will be out for districts. Anybody have news on that? Could make districts interesting, Campbell County upset.

If true, a Scott player receiving another red card, it's a real shame. Still wondering if or when the Scott AD (and at some point the principal) might get involved in this situation? Shines a bad light on the program, which is over seen by the AD, and ultimately the principal.

Interested to hear the details. It has been my experience that MoCo has a few players that play the game to bring the opposing players to that level......

As far as the coach, wasn't he an assistant last year? If that's the case I seem to recall him being rather... "Animated" at the final last year.

Ah well then ok. I only watched the bishop Brossart game and I thought I saw the assistant from last year. My bad if I missed the new coach.

I find it interesting that the Scott fans won't give an explanation of this red card or the game in general. Why was the card issued?

It started as Scott's senior night celebration. Lots of shots on both sides. Scott scored first-for Montgomery County. Scott's keeper of course took no blame, but barked like a drill sergant to his defense like they were dogs. Keeper Seay spiraled down from there, egged on by Montgomer County players taunting him. Instead of showing senior leadership, lifting up his team and in a position to mentor younger players, Seay made yet another selfish and immature move, which proved to doom Scott at their final home game.

Seay continues immature, selfish and disrespectful behavior. Hope Scott's AD and this week's coach step in to stop any further damage this boy may cause. It was overheard that Seay's comments after ejection were also self centered, this is my senior night. When coach told him to leave the field, Seay disrespected the coach by stating this is my bench and my team.

Want further damage will this child be allowed to continue. Good ridance, he should not be allowed to play any other sports because of this negative attitude. Sad individual. The negativity ruined the game and night for the actual teams on both sides of the field. Seay was not the only senior.

I am just grateful my son does not need to be subject to this player

From what I heard it was pretty bad. I hope that the coach, ad, and school administration handles this properly and sternly to deter this type of behavior from happening in the future. Due to his behavior he definitely diminished his team's chances of making it out of the districts.

Back when both of my kids went to Scott, and both played soccer, I have always remembered what good goalies they have always had for the boys side. What a shame that it has to come to this. I really hate to hear that, especially for the other seniors on the team. I am sure this is not how they want their season to be remembered.

I first would like to say that I know nothing about soccer and will not pretend to know anything. My son plays football so I usually just read the football posts. That said, my son wanted to go to this game so I drove him and a few others and I decided to stay and watch instead of driving back and forth. I peeked over here in the soccer forum since I figured there would be some talk of what happened at this game. Having read a few of the posts I couldn't help but sign on and weigh in. First post ever so please go easy.

 

The first half of this game was actually very exciting. I was amazed at how quickly the boys on both teams could move the ball and a few had some amazing foot skills. There was really not a whole lot to talk about, no scoring, no ugliness, just a good fast paced game.

 

Then the second half started and suddenly things were very different. I noticed right away that the bench of Montgomery County were saying things to the Scott goalie (Scott goalie was now at the other end of the field right in front of their bench). Then there was a rough play or 2 between the goalie and a Montgomery County player but honestly they both had a shot at the ball and both went after it. For whatever reason the referee gave the Scott goalie a yellow on one of those plays(which my son later told me was a caution). Not sure what the goalie did to get a yellow card but who am I to say. I could now hear the coaches from Montgomery County jawing at the Scott goalie. It really surprised me that a Coach would jaw at a kid but I thought, oh well, maybe this is how soccer is played. The Scott goalie even seemed to ask the referee on several occasions about the comments being said to him and the referee did nothing. This surprised me too since I could hear the Montgomery County coach from the bleachers. Not sure what he was saying but there was no doubt who he was yelling at. As the game went on the opposing coach never let up as he continued barking and yelling at the Scott goalie. I've just never seen a coach jaw with a player.......in any high school sport. Seems odd and wrong to me. So then the referee pulls out a red card and throws the Scott goalie out of the game. At the time I had no clue why the referee would do that but my son later told me that the Scott goalie must have done or said something to get a 2nd yellow which means an ejection. I'm guessing he said something since I didn't actually see him do anything wrong.

 

My apologies for the long winded post but it just seems to me that everyone is really coming down hard on a kid that seemed to be provoked by adults. I do think the goalie's reaction was rather animated but who is really accountable here?? if the goalie did something to earn an ejection then fine.......I don't see a problem with that. But where is the accountability for the adult coaches who seem to be provoking it. And what about the referee who seemed to ignore what appeared to be repeated requests from the Scott goalie to stop the nonsense on the opposing sideline? Is this normal in soccer? I think I honestly find more fault in the opposing coaches for their actions and the referee for his inaction. If you push anyone far enough....sooner or later you will get a response. Unfortunately for the young man playing goalie his response eliminated him from the game. That said.....none of it seemed right. Especially from the adults coaching and officiating the game.

Notafan.....welcome and a great first post......you are correct....I wasn't there, but the ref should have stepped in if that occurred as you explained.......

No other person on here has mentioned the allegedly, "the coaches from Montgomery County jawing at the Scott goalie." And loud enough to be heard clear across the field, really? And there have been a few Scott supporters' post and no mention of this.

I find it very hard to believe, if any of this is even half true the referee would allow the MOCO coaches to "jaw" at the Scott keeper without giving the MOCO coaches a card. I find post #13 hard to believe.
