  1. Best television I've seen I a while. Solid writing, and outstanding acting. "Was that the Manny?! I've got to get my autograph book." Great stuff!
  2. Zlatan is a difference maker. The Pudlians must neutralize him; if not, ManU wins. I know its "early" in the season, but anything less than a draw for MU, and the pressure will begin to mount on Mourinho. The Red Devils can't lose sight of the top of the table. I say 1-1.
  3. Recently purchased a season ticket package. The sales rep told me they expected about 700 season tickets. I know there are a ton of alternatives in the area (UC, XU, UK, UofL, high school, etc), but I thought it might be higher. I'm anxious to see what they have, and hope to be a part of a program on the uptick. I think it says something when Mr Basketball chooses the program. First time in the history of the award that has happened.
  4. Regardless of your age, someday in the future, you'll look back at your current self and say "those were the good ol' days". Embrace every day. You'll never be as young as you are today.
  5. I'm pulling for Michaela on the Millennials. Funny, and playing a smart game.
  6. Totally agree. Give a kid a uniform, and he pays you +$20K to attend. Total money grab. Same with soccer....46 on the roster. I honestly don't think the kids are aware there is no limit to the number of teammates when they sign on. They're only thinking of playing "at the next level".
  7. Are the Lady Stangs turning the corner under Coach Goller, or is the recent competition less than stellar? Either way, Best of luck!
  8. For the uninitiated, what constitutes "NEKY"?
  9. How did Ibrahaim Goumballe (Walnut Hills) look? He should be no stranger to CovCath/NoKy fans, as he's played on the top Kings/Hammers team for several years. 32 points (12 goals, 8 assists) in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference last year in only 13 games. Fantastic player.
  10. Ray Kues is returning to coaching after a seven-year layoff to take charge of the Boone County girls’ basketball program. Kues, 58, left coaching after the 2008-09 season, but he still ranks among the top 20 in career wins in Kentucky girls’ high school basketball with a 450-231 record in 25 years at three schools. Ray Kues He’ll be resuming his career with a Boone County program that has a long history of success. The Rebels have been a perennial contender in the 9th Region playoffs, claiming 12 championship and seven runner-up trophies over the last 34 years. “People have been asking me ever since I stopped coaching, ‘Would you go back to it,’ and I said it would have to be the perfect fit for me, beginning with support of the (school) administration,” Kues said. Boone County school officials chose a seasoned veteran for the head coaching job this time after hiring a first-year head coach last year. Jessica Wendeln resigned after just one season with the Rebels, who posted an 11-16 record and lost in the first round of the 33rd District playoffs last February. Kues scheduled a meeting with the returning Boone County basketball players on Friday to give them in idea of what lies ahead. “I’ll tell them I’m still passionate about the sport and excited to be coaching again and that I’ll give it 100 percent,” he said. “I’m not going to be talking about wins or losses or anything about the season. We’re just going to love to play basketball.” Kues started his head coaching career at St. Henry in 1984. He went to Bishop Brossart in 1991 and coached teams that won the Kentucky All “A” Classic small-school championship in 1991 and the 10th Region post-season tournament in 2001. After stepping down as Brossart’s head coach, Kues took charge of the Silver Grove girls’ basketball program and got it back to competing on the varsity level. Kues, who now works for a company that makes brackets for jet engines, has been inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame and he’s a member of the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Court of Honor. The only Northern Kentucky girls’ basketball coaches who have more career wins than him are Bill Goller of Holy Cross and Nell Fookes of Boone County. The gym floor at Boone County High School was named in honor of Fookes, who retired after the 2014-15 season with a 686-255 record in 30 years with the Rebels. She ranks third in career wins in Kentucky girls’ high school basketball. “I’m not looking to fill Nell Fookes shoes because I can’t do that, but I think my own coaching style will speak for itself,” Kues said. “I have no question about my ability to coach.” Kues said two former Boone County players will be on his coaching staff. Molly Hug will be the varsity assistant and Angel Miller will coach the junior varsity team next season.

  13. I believe Dylan Geiman, Brent Geiman and Sam Parnell (BBHS) are also playing for Buse at TMC.
  14. I switched from TWC to Direct for TV, and have no regrets. Still have TWC for internet, with no complaints.
  15. What do residents recommend for basic internet service in Lexington? Time Warner? Windstream? Others? I'm interested in basic internet service (15 Mbps?) ... not cable TV, not local telephone service. Just simple, reliable, cost-effective basic internet service, preferably without a contract, for college students. THANKS!
  16. I can answer that for you....no one else was involved. Acted alone.
  17. If interested in BBQ/ribs, Sticky Fingers is a must. Lunch or dinner. Very casual. 235 Meeting St, Charleston SC Sticky Fingers Ribhouse | Barbecue Restaurant & Catering
  18. I thought there was a Terry Sandfoss from Silver Grove at NC in the late 70s/early 80s, but I didn't think he played college ball. Perhaps you are referencing his father/uncle. Either way, a solid hoops family.
  19. Probably ripe for another thread (NY vs. Chicago), but give me a slice of Grimaldi's thin slice over Giordano's any day of the week. And I like Giordano's!!
  20. Anyone from Shelby County? Scott County? Louisville Senaca? Paintsville? Was Owensboro Apollo originally Owensboro HS? All have rich traditions. Would love to hear some lists from those schools.
  21. If Hoover were a racehorse, he'd be PUT down! Lol
  22. And Hoover's performance overshadowed what was a VERY good baseball game. The pitching was really good. Lamb, Iglesias, Cingrani, Smith and Wood all pitched well. Btw...Billy has three dingers this year, and 2 are off of Lester.
