Another way to look at the data -

In the first Qtr from where I sat the stands were full (from the student section to the visitors section)but not packed. My wife started to feel ill from the heat and we had to leave late in the second Qtr. The man infrount of me also left when we did. Finished the game at home in the air conditioning. My daughter in law said the heat affected quite a number of people who had to leave or headed to the shady part of the field.

I believe having the Preview listed on the High School sub-forums page is confusing some.

I agree preseason means very little however that is the topic of this thread - Which team should be preseason #1. Maxpreps comes out with their list and have Trinity 3rd and St X 5th - Not sure what/who they are listening to. Tonight will help some when T plays HHS and X plays SK

Class 4A has Trinity and St X winning State Titles and when classes were expanded to 6 Classes that continued in 6A Class 3A had 4 teams winning titles and when the classes expanded 5A and 4A was shared by the same teams that were winning in 3A with the exemption of Cov Cath winning in 2006 and Bell Co winning in 2008. Highlands Boyle Co and Lex Cath all won multiple State Titles. When Highlands was moved from 5A to 4A then you have Bowling Green winning 5A. Class 2A had Boyle Co win in 2000 and then they moved to 3A and continued. When they left 2A had 5 different teams win Titles. When the class went to 6 Central had dominated 3A and FT Campbell and NCC has won multiple 2A Titles Class 1A has Danville and NCC winning multiple titles when only 4 Classes. When the classes were expanded to 6 you have Beechwood and Mayfield winning multiple titles. Personnaly I like the 6 classes even if there is some inbalance in scoring.

You are correct - They only count the boys that were born to parents that live in Ft Thomas. Everyone else are transfers and do not count.

HHS school size ranking within the 222 KY teams is 110. If you split the State into two classes it would be 1 thru 111 and then 110 thru 222 leaving Trinity in Class AA and HHS in Class A. If we want Trinity with 1018 boys grades 10 thru 11 to be in the same class as HHS with 314 boys grades 10 thur 11 you have to have one class for the state - all in one - let the best team win one state title - eveyone else no championship - just like the NCAA tour. Hold it - Teams complain about not getting into the NCAA tourn - I would expect with one tourn in KY the KHSAA would field alot of complaints also. Just a note - HHS is expected to drop lower than 110 in the next round of alignment.

Simon Kenton - the largest school in NKY at 594 (10 thru 12) would be DII in Ohio. D-II – 108 schools with male enrollments of 403 to 607 The only reason KY has 6 classes and Ohio 7 is to have more State Champonships If it was not for the expense and logistics there would be more. Alot of parents and school Admin's want there kids to get a metal.

I knew that but forgot. Thanks. All I have is the KY Avg 2yrs -at 419 - So HHS would be around 314 or so if taking the AVG for 10 thru 12. Placing them in D-III – 108 schools with male enrollments of 281 to 402 - and since they are the smallest 4A school in the state (by last realignment count), they would also be close to the same position in Ohio school size.

According to the AVG Boys at HHS of 419 they would fall in DII in Ohio "D-II – 108 schools with male enrollments of 403 to 607". With 7 Div in Ohio they are D11 in KY with 6 Classes they are a 4. I am sure Ohio had to consider the expense to move from 6 Divisions to 7 prior to making the decision. They would be hard pressed to do 12 - expense and logistics would be a problem. I know talking to people i work with in Ohio would like to have a tournament like KY and not use ratings.

I agree - rankings are still being updated. Just was confused with the Bowling Green at #24 that was posted on the web site and then looked at the details and figured it was a typo on the website. Below is the link to check updates calpreps.com 2013 preview

Per the KHSAA web site Brossart has 200.5 boys (avg 2 yrs grades 9 thru 12) and NCC has 213.5 boys.

When I lived in Bellevue (before Kids) I would attend the high school football games and watched John Sudkamp run for Bellevue - winning state in the late 70's. Moved to Ft Thomas and started attending games with my son's when I was fortunate to see Justin run for HHS. It was great time seeing Justin run. Best HHS runner I have seen.

No problem today.

Well scratch what I just posted. I started to try and watch NCC and the buffering is bad once again. No sure why it was ok for awhile today when I watched HHS and now its bad. I switched over to see if HHS game was ok and it is now hard to watch also. I guess I will try again later.
