Edwards has an older brother who played for Shultz about 5 yrs ago.

Southwestern still hasnt found their offense but defensive effort and rebounding has carried them this far in Rupp.

I was surprised by the score, especially without Hicks and Quick, congrats to Trinity and also GRC on a great year.

If GRC can slow the game down, they have a chance, that is certainly easier said than done. GRC also has to go to war on the boards, even their guards are gonna have to step up and have their best rebounding game of the year. If GRC can do those things they have a chance, Trinity hasnt shown me any reason not to pick them but this will certainly be a game of conflicting styles, if GRC can take good shots, get even a small lead and put some pressure on Trinity who knows what will happen. GRC is one of the best in state team I have seen all year at pressuring the ball handler, good luck, everybody likes to cheer for the underdog.

Good win, wasnt a great offensive effort, but defense played well. At this point win and move on.

Purple, I hope your right, Hopkinsville is a very nice team, I think Southwestern can go to their big lineup like they did against West Jessamine and put Cody Epperson and Edwards in the back court and out Physical Hopkinsville, but we shall see. I really like that lineup at times, it makes Southwestern 6'4" - 6'5" at every position on the floor, we havent used that line up much this year but at times I think it has worked best. With that lineup in the game they throw over the press alot more and dribble less. It should be a good game.

Purple, you can check Hopkinsville out on ihigh, I watched them play a little bit, they have a very nice team, but from what I saw I think they would have a hard time with Lewis on the block, providing SW can get him the ball down low.

Stepscalled, I think you made a very good point about teams getting to Rupp and not being themselves. It seems Hopkinsville plays a pretty young line up and Southwestern will start a freshman, two sophomores, one junior and one senior. I am not sure how young Hopkinsville is but sounds like they play some young kids too. Which ever coach can calm his young kids down first will probably have a nice advantage.

Both teams like to press and get up and down the floor, both have deep benches, should be a fun game to watch. I would compare Hopkinsville to Jtown for those who havent seen them play. Game may come down to who has the BEST bench.

A couple of young kids mentioned, Shane Hall and Justin Edwards played on the Kentucky Elite AAU team this summer, Gilbert played in a tournament with them also, Great to see those kids all at the state tournament, looks like their hard work payed off.

Well deserved, he is a humble young man that goes out and plays hard.

I think its a great idea, whether you like some of the officials in your regions or not, after 25 or so games of the SAME faces officiating its good to see some new faces and bring in new officials that dont know families or friends or people in the community. I think it take some of the pressure off of the referees, coaches and fans. And I am sure the referees are ready for a change of having the same coaches fuss at them etc. Works out better for everyone.

Thanks Purple, and I have been on Boyle Co end of things too, so I know how heartbreaking it is. I have always said you cant Win em all but you can always Give your all, and Boyle Co kids certainly gave their all tonight, they never gave up. I was pulling for Southwestern but I certainly love to see kids play with the heart Boyle Co did. Congradulations and those kids and their fans should be very proud!

Thanks Purple, I have to say I have watched alot of high school basketball this year and I cant say I saw a team that played with more heart than Boyle Co did. They simply would NOT go away. Congradulations to Boyle Co on a great regional tournament.

You will enjoy watching Shane Hall, got to see him play alot on the AAU circuit this year, he is about 6 8 and can jump out of the gym. He also made the top 25 in super soph camp in Atlanta last summer.

I think it should be a great game, both teams are not in the finals by ACCIDENT. Congradulations to both teams for a good regional tournament and I think tonight will certainly be a good game.

At this point its about winning and moving on, pretty or ugly, it dont matter.

West played a very smart game and really took it inside and executed a great game plan. And Gover really showed alot of heart.

I agree its gonna be about tempo with Boyle and East, also East really likes to get to the rim and score easy buckets. Try and slow the tempo, keep them out of the lane, they cant press as much if they dont score as many easy buckets. And yes controlling the tempo may be difficult, but I agree that is what a team is gonna have to do to beat them. Should be an interesting game to see which team can control the tempo.

Did Boyle play any zone against them in their earlier matchup? they sure got into the lane pretty easy against Wayne. After seeing East play I can see why some on here have picked them to win the region, they play very hard, they seem to play with as much energy in the fourth quarter as the do in the first quarter. Should be a fun game to watch.

First time I have seen East Jessamine, I was impressed, they will certainly be a tough out. Congrats to Boyle and East Jessmine on advancing.
