I was doing my traditional last minute Christmas shopping yesterday while wearing my Highlands jacket, a coach from Lasalle noticed it and came up to me and said "where were you guys Monday night" he went on to say everyone kept asking why Highlands wasn't on the field with the other state champ from the area. I of course had no answer to his question as I'm very curious myself. He went on to tell me about the great respect Lasalle has for Highlands and it would have been an honor to share the limelight Monday night with such a school.

After the talk Rocco Pangallo gave to upcoming classes last night at the State Celebration I'm sure they're fired up and already working their tails off today.

Saw this quote from someone today on the Enquirer page and thought it pretty much summed up my thoughts on this 2014 group of Birds. "I've seen quite a few Highlands championships, lop-sided victories & more talented line-ups but I'll always remember this teams grit. Well done, Bluebirds!"

I would encourage teams to rent their own port-o-lets for pre game next year. Heard some stories about kids holding it in until halftime when the locker rooms finally cleared.
