  1. Not feeling the love today Tark? I live south of Walton and was there for that not-so-magical moment that took the game away from Doug! Those of us south of Walton kind of feel the same way about NKY.....especially when it comes to sports reporters!
  2. I've got 2 parking passes @ Hampton Farms that are up for rent that day! About 4 minutes :walk: time from there to BOK arena. 12 pack of Mich Ultra, per pass!
  3. If these two teams meet in the finals, it'll be like a track meet. I've seen SK several times this year and they're probably averaging 70 shots per game. Haven't seen Anderson as much but their PPG is up there too! Grant Co gym is rather small.....packed house and it could be rockin! Might have to make arrangements to see this one.
  4. Wouldn't you agree that most request for constructive face to face meetings are generated from the inital thought of reconstructive surgery! :wacky: After any type of disagreement/altercation, there should be a "cool down" period of 24 hours or more before anyone has a meeting. BuzzerBeater touched on the parent/player contract.....follow the guidelines as stated and if anybody violates it, then have the meeting.
  5. Gotta agree with Mustang! There shouldn't be any entitlements because of your last name.
  6. As of last night, the semi's are at 3pm and 5pm on Saturday. Championship game - Sunday at 3pm
  7. Wasn't Asbury there too? Thought I saw Coach talking to someone with an Asbury jacket on.
  8. Some of our very own members have trouble processing some of this material......PP1  This really is getting deep.....let's wait and see how the next game goes, and then access it again!
  9. I'm a big fan of Coach L for many reasons and will always appreciate what he's done in his career. The fact is, he's just one of those old school coaches that wants to win at everything and really doesn't care about anybody other than his team. I'm old school too and wish there were more like him. I've known who he was for 30+ years but never had the pleasure to meet him until about 3 years ago. Since then, I've talked to him numerous times and he's always remembered when we first met and always ask how my kids are doing. His achievements and accomplishments are so unattainable, that might be why so many people have hard feelings towards him. Best wishes Coach L!
  10. Congrats to Sydney! Can a mod please move this to "college sports".
  11. The officials discussed this for at least 3 minutes and then went to the score table twice. Not sure what was said. The free throws on the T were shot, balls inbounded from mid court and then the arrow gets switched. In addition the T happened on the baseline. When the ball was inbounded, was mid court the proper spot for Grant to inbound it?
  12. I too thought Madman and Clyde were correct! With how the play unfolded, Grant was penalized and shouldn't have been. Good thing the pa didn't come in to play after this point. Not calling out the officials BUT, 3 veterans, one of which called the girls state tourney several years ago, couldn't get it right! Good luck to both teams in the region
  13. Just before the 2nd half started, several students threw baby powder up in the air and some of it got on the floor. The situation was handled quickly but the damage was done....game delayed by about 10 minutes. Not sure the refs knew exactly what to do......Coach Harden helped them make the decision! Which was right, IMO!
  14. There's not a student section in KY. that can be compared to the "Colonel Crazies"
  15. What was the score after the 1st quarter? Regardless of what it was, to put up 87 with a running clock, the coaching staff wasn't considering anyone but themselves!!!
  16. I for sure, have never said anything about hating Mr. Burgess in any form. I've known him for over 30 years and there isn't a man who's put in more time and hard work into any organization in Grant Co. than him.
  17. Another poster spewing off with hatred and not reading what was said! You need to read post 168 again....I'll be the first to say that he does a great job at what he knows how to do!! Self centered or not, that sounds like a compliment!
  18. Not sure of where all the personal hatred is coming from, especially calling out the lead administrator. Maybe you've experienced her wrath at some point in time and elected to move on too.....Sour Grapes?? Did they really try to fire Coach Hicks? Never heard that before either. Again, he resigned his coaching position under his own power.....wasn't asked to do so. Why would I ask a 70+ year old basketball booster president, who also sets on the local water district board, and makes good popcorn, what he thinks about the administration? I really don't care what he thinks about the administration. Since you brought him up, I'll be the first to say that he does a great job at what he knows how to do. Negative attitudes will never be successful! Again, Good Luck to Coach Grammer and the Braves program!
  19. First of all....congrats to Coach Grammer. I wish him the best! What's up with all of the negative comments about the administration? Have you dealt with them before? The administration didn't have a problem with Coach Hicks when it came to athletics. He was there every day, worked hard for his coaching staff, players, parents, and even the community....this was appreciated by all of those involved in athletics. Did the administration have an issue with the ACADEMIC side of the business.....YES! There's always the underlying issues that people don't want to know, don't want to hear about, or don't want to believe because some people, well just.........."CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH"! People are always wanting to blame someone else and it usually starts with the administration. That's just the nature of the beast. I don't believe there were to many educators that resigned from this district either. Folks need to remember that Coach Hicks was not asked to resign as a coach or EDUCATOR!
  20. First of all, you'll never bust my bubble! If the OEA is still investigating the system, then so be it. My source indicated that he hasn't seen nor been asked any questions from the investigators this year. If they do find that "ANYBODY" is doing or has done something wrong.....somebody should be showing them the door. IMO, there should be "0" tolerance for anything that's detrimental to a school system. As for the day to day operations that I refer to, they don't have :poop:to do with the Super getting approved for $34,000. It all falls on the shoulders of the Board Members that approved this and several of them approved the same thing for the previous Super. If you're gonna quote somebody, make sure to use it in the right sentence
  21. There's more applicants (over 15) on the list than what's been mentioned. And from what I'm hearing, some of them are well qualified for the job. I'm not sure if Coach Plunkett has applied or not but, I think he would be an excellent hire for the program. The OEA investigation was conducted and closed LAST YEAR, not this year as indicated....with no violations! 99% of the real educators understand that their primary objective is to teach our youth and prepare them for this cruel world. The other 1%, they are the ones that think they're entitled to a retirement based on coaching achievements! Others have commented about the Super getting $34,000 for continuing his eduction. He just followed in the footsteps of the previous Super. There wasn't much smoke about that at the time and there wasn't any cuts that year either. Yes, the timing is bad and I don't agree with it but, if anyone's to blame, it's definetly not the folks that do the day to day operations in the system, it's the.......BOE MEMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Being tenured today has a different meaning than what it was 30 years ago!!
  23. Sounds like Coach Holland has called the moving van! Congrats and good luck!
  24. Holy Cow!! How can anyone be commenting or speculating about who's getting or not getting the job at Grant Co......has anyone confirmed that he's signed a new contract and submitted his resignation? Are you folks up there sure that Coach Hicks is leaving?
