GCHOOPS3 - I remember a game where #22 was playing some exceptional defense - who is this and what grade is he in? -

Someone told me that Cummins is no longer with the team, is this so? Also, isn't Carr a freshman? He's pretty solid if that's the case. As for Kinmon, Hurley, and Hunt, these are some talented players who haven't reached full potential and it should really be interesting for the future. -
If you have a floor general (point gaurd) that's realiable and has his team in control, players are allowed to call timeout too!

I'm glad to see other posters agreeing that WV isn't all that golden after all. I remember several weeks ago when Walton posters were bashing other fans about how they thought their team was screwed by the refs. And yes, Walton did win this game.....funny how things change when the game goes the other way!

Politician - I for one attend some of the GC games and don't have a scrappy kid in the game. It is a different atomsphere around there and people do have their own opinions but this should be a welcomed change....if you know anything about basketball. These kids are playing harder and more aggressive than they ever have and it will eventually pay off. Not to many people outside GC ever commented about how scrappy, relentless, or aggressive this bunch was in previous years.....things have changed and other posters/teams are taking notice. Some posters don't like the style of ball that Coach Hicks plays but, he learned from someone who does have a state championship ring. And by the way, I'm not saying that this GC team will be wearing a ring either! I believe that more changes are coming and if you don't like it now, you'd better get out of town! PH...Good Day! -

Blackburn & Hurley were both out for the game. Can't speak for Kinmon only having 6 points, maybe just an off night which GC can't afford. -

MOJO52, I dont know what games you've been at but I have never seen anyone else other than coach Hicks getting his point across! That's total BS for you to say, "ALL OF THE COACHES", scream at the players. I really wonder how many GC games you have seen or is this just more BS that a disgruntled parent is feeding you! -

Maybe if Highlands had Fangman they could have won this game. He did score 21 against Holmes, my favorite to win the ninth region. -

:puke: It doesn't matter what the final score was or the margin of defeat from a regional contender, it was a great accomplishment for this kid. You probably never accomplished anything like this....admit that you're just jealous. -

Are you talking about both teams playing this way or being specific about one team? With the score being in the 70's, it had to been somewhat exciting, especially for GC since they did win this one! -

Appears that Coach Hicks has made a few adjustments in both his line-up and offense. Good win for the BRAVES...will be an interesting district game! -
Are you trying to say that regular games don't mean anything to these kids from GRC? I don't buy that at all! GRC will beat Mason County with or without Setty and/or Pawsat, now or come March. Glad Pawsat is getting healthy, it's going to be hard to get in the groove right out of the gate and I wish him the best when he hits the hardwood.

A typical response from a politician there politician. Yes, Setty is usually a hard match up for a lot of teams and he will get his 17 to 20 ppg. Grant's tallest player might be 6'2" at best. I guess MC had no answer for Hunt since he had 19. -

Doesn't the rule book state that there has to be .6 or more on the clock for a "CATCH AND SHOOT" to be good anyway? In this video, it was clearly a catch and there is no possible way that it could have counted.....as for the foul, it's not clear enough if there was contact before time expired. -
Basketball Officials ... Thank you
dribbledrive11 replied to Voice of Reason's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I'm not sure what region that sportsmaniac is talking about but, the payscale in the 8th region is $55 for a JV game and a varsity official gets $65 for a 3 man crew or $75 for a 2 man crew. Regardless, still a thankless job....every call 50% are satisfied and 50% are upset. My only comment to those that do officiate, if you're not in it for the athlete's, then don't do it. I also like SPINDOCS comment about watching game film...dont know where, when, and with whom the film should be reviewed with but, this should be required twice a year.....for everyone!!!!!!!! -

KHSAA slaps Morrow/J-town with penalties
dribbledrive11 replied to BigGreenHorse's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Not familiar with the circumstances but, did the coach have a legit beef or not on the controversial call? Secondly, it doesn't matter who or what you are, you don't criticize anyone in a public manner when it comes to athletics. Coaches and Administrators are public figures and should behave accordingly when it comes to these situations. I'm glad that the KHSAA has stepped in and acted on Coach Morrow. Having said that, if he had a legit beef with the official, what actions did the kHSAA impose on he/she?
