2011 11th Region Draw
dribbledrive11 replied to Rainman11's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
You couldn't have said it any better. Depending on how a few other regions pan out, it's going to be difficult to decide which way to go. Good luck to all the teams still in post season play! Thanks to Goldie too! -

Any observer can tell who the Walton faithful are, you get real defensive when the truth is spoken. Remember the famous phrase, "YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH", I think that applies here! -

After the gazillion post about what was wrong with the Birds, I'd say he's not worried about a darn thing....he's making a regional appearance which is more than expected two months ago. Good luck Birds and Coach Flynn -

I wasn't trying to bait anyone but, by the comments that I'm seeing he must have taken over the head recruiting position. Is the hook set. :sssh: -

I'm not involved with the WV program but, what role does Coach Luebbe have in the program now? Or, is he just a parent/fan these days. -

Congrats to Lloyd's Donnie Cheatum for being selected to NKY best small school athletes. The article states that he averaged 17 ppg. Would like to see how many boards and blocked shots he had too....can anyone provide this? Reporter James Weber selected and commented about 23 different athletes in NKY. Congrats to everyone who was mentioned! -

MTK - He might be a smaller player but has a big heart and I'm sure he's playing with some pain. Has his injury been addressed or are they just waiting til the season is over? The Cats will need him to continue deep into the regional! -

One on one matchup, Cheatum would have him spinning faster than the blades on that SEARS push mower. Wasn't at the game last night but, I've seen Cheatum play probably 10 times in the last few years and if you added him to Gallatin, Grant, or even WV's squad this year, a certain sports reporter might have spent some time in one of these gyms. And before anyone starts poppin off, I'm not bashing the Lloyd players or the staff on their successful season. Coach Jones/Hicks/Trame could have used a big man to go along with their 6'2" and under teams. -
Boys State Tournament Officials
dribbledrive11 replied to jahearme's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
IMO it shouldn't be left up to the assigning secretary to determine this by himself. It should include a regional panel that has the secretary and 1 or 2 representative's from each district that collectively review the voting results. However, I'm sure in some cases that all referees don't have an opportunity to call a game that includes each team in the region. Regardless, good luck to all of the officials that were selected this year! A call is a call....regardless if it's 1 second into the game or 1 second left in the game! -

JS...add these two (that dance team could put a hurting on somebody) and the state tournament together, it's a guarantee that Kentucky has the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH! -

Big Loss for NKY HS sports coverage

Clyde....I missed your earlier post and I'm glad you see where I'm coming from. Regardless if we're talking about payroll or economics, if the folks in the "NOT SO HIGHLY THOUGHT OF AREAS OF NKY", all of the sudden ceased in buying a paper, it would just make it a couple of days closer to when the paper really doesn't exist. I have held off on commenting about Ryan Ernst but I for one am glad he is leaving. He didn't do his job on an assignment last year and relied on a specific coach to provide the details which were biased. Ernst's inability to even follow up with other coaches showed how little he cared about his job (or the NSHTOAONKY) and cost several athletes the recognition that they deserved! For the athletes that did get the deserved attention from Ernst...I'm excited to hear this! I can almost guarantee that when the engines rev up on July 9....99.9% of the people will then claim WARSAW to be part of NKY. And by the way LAWNBOY13, the folks down here don't mind slinging a little cow manure or throwing a few thousand bales of hay. At least we're putting food on the table and not picking up dog S@#$ while mowing someone's yard...we do know how to work! We're glad to be able to go to the bathroom anytime we please and fart without the neighbor hearing us! -

dribbledrive11 replied to Crunch-time's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Clyde...do you think it would have an impact on the newspapers payroll if all of the people in these areas stopped buying the paper? IMO, it would have a huge impact and I'm like FarBeyond and El Corazon, a little coverage every now and then is all we're asking for. -

Coldiron is one of the best to ever call the game! He always allows the game to be about the players and not himself nor the coaches! Congrats -

For those that aren't familiar with what happened, Shelby County split this year and "most of" the better players went to Collins. Which is actually playing rather well. Your statement about SC being the worst in school history is probably true but, that's just plain cold dude:ohbrother:
