Maybe not to you but to any player who bust their chops every day playing for coach Hicks it does! -

Sore loser! "Ironic"(as madman once said)....the first fan that stormed the court was Kinmon, AKA the WV guard who hit the free throws to beat the BRAVES in Tenn!:taz: -
Rules Question
dribbledrive11 replied to Jack of all Trades's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
IMO...if the defender steps across the inbound line and deflects the ball after it has left the passers hands, it should be a warning for the first and a technical for the second. However, if the defender hits the ball while it is still in the hands of the inbound passer, it should be a technical. -

What has happened to South Laurel
dribbledrive11 replied to a topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Neerfan....both of your comments are correct - he left on his own terms and did see a brighter future ahead at PSW. After being at SL for 20 (or whatever) years, it was time for a change for both he and the administration. The school board members themselves have changed over the years and is now made up of members primarly from the North, who support a different program and Wright could see this. He's probably close to retirement and if the truth were to be known, he just didn't want to put up with any more bull coming from the central office. Wouldn't it be ironic if Wright were to become the leader of this administration some day!! After reading all of the comments, everyone knows that on any given night, any team can be beaten regardless of the talent or coach, or even assistant coach. I've been around all of the coaches (Davis, Wright, Sizemore, and Denny) for many years and for anyone to say that these guys are bad coaches....you're just wrong. These guys contribute so much time and effort in teaching players how to play the game but, they can't play the game for them. Davis, although he's in his first year as head coach, he'll do a great job at South. I'm sure the players are still trying to buy into his system and there are several injuries that have hurt the lineup but after all is said and done, he'll have this program performing to its potential within two years. Sizemore & Denny, a complimentary duo that will be a regional contender. Wright at SWP - it is what it is - great coach, who has earned his state championship ring. It's my understanding that kids want to play for him and that's why he's had so much success in his career. Good luck to all of these coaches! -

Was thinking the same thing! I guess with that big wing span he's got, doesn't really need to take many shots from more than 8 feet from the hoop. Didn't really like his routine from the line.....catch and shoots without taking a dribble or two. BTW....his brother(Carson) has a promising future - to be an 8th grader, he knows what to do on both ends of the floor! -

Grant goes on a 13 to 2 run to finish the 2nd quarter, up 2 at the half. Second half is back and forth with the lead changing numerous times. Owen hits a layup with 16 seconds to take the lead by 1. Grant calls timeout with 8 seconds and Hunt hits a 3 with 4.8 left in the game. Owen calls timeout.......doesn't get a shot off. Great win for GC!!!! -

Southwesternn 109 Riverside Christian 21
dribbledrive11 replied to cammando's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Isn't this the first year for Wright @ Southwestern? Maybe he had an obligation to participate in the game and couldn't do anything about it. Didn't check where the game was played but, maybe the administration at Riverside Christian thought this would be good gate revenue too! Regardless of who, what, when, or where, this is a bad situation ! -

Great WIN for the Rebels! This discussion could go on and on but, did anyone ever think that maybe Carson wanted to play with his classmates first and maybe the head coach supported his decision? There's no doubt he's going to be a contributor to the varsity squad! -
Grant County vs Simon Kenton Predictions

Neers win by 11! Chambers played one of his better games! GC shot terrible, had 20+ turnovers, and missed 8 or so layups. -

Madsion Central vs. Lincoln Co scrimmage?
dribbledrive11 replied to hoopsr1's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Weakside....I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying but, if the scrimmages aren't sanctioned by the KHSAA, who has determined that you can only have 2 scrimmages and they can't last any longer than 3 hours. I've heard of this several times this year. -

Nothing fishy about good contract negotiations for his senior year! He's going to school so that one of the many things required for eligibility! -

Can't answer that at this time....however, he is a great kid and hope theres no further issues for J-Bird. Not if, but when he does become eligible, WV will gain from his presence on the floor! -

Sandman - the younger Kinmon that's transferring is a half brother to the older Kinmon that was a coach. As for red flags and people not liking what they're seeing in Braves country, that's more accurate than people want to believe!
