two bad teams

I like Montgomery County to win by 4. Didn't play great yesterday but I think they will refocus and if Prewitt stays out of foul trouble he will see much more court time than yesterday. Ballard is strong, but I see the mild upset. Mont Co 68-64.

I like Madison Central by 12. Hoptown just doesnt have enough shooters. They have length and athletisim but struggle to score.

Too painful which way? Are you saying the number is too high or too low? I like Mad Central by 25. Say 75-50.

I am in general agreement although I would slide PRP down a little. I think Ballard and Mad. Central clear 1-2. Then Montgomery Co. #3 I like Holmes to beat PRP, and hopefully beat Madison Central but that will be tougher task.

This is spot on. To further, Bolden is just so quick and shifty the CovCath player almost had no option, however, it was absent of malice. He kind of got stuck back-pedaling and just grabbed with both arms. Correct call for sure, but nothing further and was NOT hard. The Tobler foul was hard but I second that he probably didnt know a foul was called on the floor. Bodies were just flying. Holmes got both calls but this was not some sort of "game plan". Congrats to both teams, and for Holmes for getting the W with Bolden out.

That game had just about everything. Would love to see a replay of it. The situation with Listerman getting a T was wild, to say the least.

No, I am not kidding. Who is "talented"? Who on that team other than Lou would start for any of the other powers? Holmes, NC, CCH? And who would they beat out? Cooper is the 4th best team up here and are not that talented overall. I don't think the 9th regions 4th best team is that good. Yes, I realize their games are low scoring. I am no arguing that. I am saying that all the regional games seem to be lower scoring. Not sure if its the bigger floor, more at stake, or what.

Have tried Bayou Fish House. Not as good as Alabama Fish Bar. I'll have to disagree with that but tastes vary. I think you cannot beat the actual FISH at Alabama. Now, they lose on atmosphere (carry out only), not really any sides (fries and the aforementioned onions and peppers only) and it's not really that cheap $8.99 but you get a lot of fish and its thick, large pieces. The waiting "area" is tiny. All that being said, it's worth a try for those who haven't yet. Camp Washington Chili is bland. It's just not as premium as Dixie. Now, I choose chili over most lunches so it's not like I swore the place off, but it's very overrated. Something about the pasta too, it all just seems cheaper grade. Johnny Johnson would charge you to go to the bathroom if he could.

Cooper won they game. That's all they needed to do. I'll give them credit for advancing. They also won the "draw" by getting St. Henry. They are NOT talented outside of Maniacci. They might play hard, but most of the teams in the regional do. They cannot stay with Holmes and will likely lose by 12-15. It would be more but these regional games tend to be low scoring. If Holmes is able to get any kind of lead, they will again dribble out the clock, make Copper work, and Cooper has no one to stay with them. A 12-15 point victory will feel like 20. Last night Holmes ws very impressive ball handling and being smart after getting second chance rebounds, kicking it out, and withering away more clock.

Best Fish in the city is Alabama Fish Bar on Liberty st. north of downtown Cincy. It is "to go" only but the fish is excellent. Large pieces of cod, fried, but not to a crisp. You can then dress the fish yourself with malt vinegar, hot sauce, salt, pepper, etc. They also are grilling up onions and peppers which they give you at no charge. If you like fish, its great. Give it a try.

Camp Washington Chili is terrible. I can't beleive it gets all the accolades (although many are dated). It's just not good chili and you are charged for every little extra. I think the novelty of giving "best chili award" to a small one location place has gotten them far, but IMO the chili itself is not near as good as Dixie. Hands down, Dixie is the best.

I don't know that there is any statistical evidence (or other) that it helps or hurts a team. Has the longer floor affected things the past few years? Last year Boone County was guard heavy but I would hardly call them a "fast breaking" team, yet they were able to win it last year. Dixie was probably a quicker, better shooting team last year but were bounced by Cooper. When Newport shocked Holmes a few years back, I doubt the floor had anything to do with it. Having said this, I have noticed that right from the tip, the 10 extra feet seem to take about a half a quarter for teams to get used to. You will see some baskets underneath you don't normally see in a game. (more room to manuever). But again, I don't see how it can have a clear advantage to one type of team over another. Seems the players on BOTH teams take a little adjustment period for the extra space.

This is similar to how I see it. I feel Holmes will dig itself a hole and this time will not be able to dig out. NC 72-62. Why stop there, I like NewCath to beat Bullitt East in State opener. Bullitt East very good, not great. (Have relatives in Shepherdsville).

My regional prediction: NewCath over CovCath. In the opener I think NewCath's size again is able to get up 8-10 throughout and this time holds on (in regulation) to get the W. Holmes falling behind vs. CovCath and earlier vs. NewCath is a slight concern. I give them all the credit for the furious comebacks only to lose at the end, but I just think this time NC holds on for the victory. I'll say 70-60. Keep an eye out for Newport. I like them to spring the upset on Dixie. (mild upset).

Walter, It might be kind of interesting to post how the draw works. Do they place a blank bracket and pull the four District winners out of a hat, then go ahead and pull the runners-up (with respect to not playing your District Runner up on your side? Can anyone attend? Is it the head coaches or AD's? Just a thought.

PS--In earlier thread I picked CovCath 74-69 (off by two points, will try to do better next time) and stated one of the other District "Winners" will get Holmes as the prize. Makes Monday or Tuesday nights game a must see.

Right, Totally respect what the Dawgs have done this year. But in that game both them and NC shot lights out. Look, IMO the Dawgs are the 2nd best team in 9th. But They trailed NC by 8-13 most of the second half. Having said that, I said in another thread that CovCath pulls the upset on Friday, so I don't want to contradict myself. I just see CovCath shooting it well again at Holmes. I just think ALL teams shoot well there and feel the Dawgs could find the shooting not so easy in BOKC. Just a theory. That's why they play the games, I guess!!
