Seriously.......it is absolutely worth debating and Shreck is just as good. If he played for CCH, Highlands or NCC, all of the posters on here would be singing the praises and have 10 threads on here about his toughness and what a great kid he is. Give credit where it is due. The kid can play.

Ryle is going to have a big 7x7 this season. They are going to do Middle School and Frosh on Thursday, July 23 and Varsity on Friday and Saturday. I can get you some information but I am sure that it will come out soon. If you want me to contact you off line, I can.

The officials are a weak spot on most nights in the 9th. I have watched Boone play a few times and I think they are very impressive. They are experienced, strong, and get to the basket against anyone. I am sure that many of the teams that have played Boone lately have said the same things about not getting back and too many easy buckets. That is because Boone has the guard play that consistently beats you down the court and goes strong to the basket. When they have to slow it down they have a player inside that knows how to play the post and is huge. They are legit.

I think that most people in the administration would say that they do value athletics but it is not the primary driver of all of the money that is allocated by the state. I would say that Boone County also pays in more that they receive due to other poor regions in the state. I would like to see the budget or game plan that Kenton County used compared to what Boone County has done with that same money over the last few years. I agree that the facilities are very poor in comparison at this point over all. It was just twenty years ago that playing on Boone Counties field was considered a treat. Now, not so much.

I think that there will be 9 or 10 juniors that get significant varsity play time, most of them starting. It will be a good mix of juniors and seniors this year, which is a good thing for the program.

Boone plays some good seniors with experience and strength. They are fearless about driving to the basket and Stockwell is very solid about getting his shots and playing his game. They will be a tough out in the Region tourney.

Agreed, if Cooper is at full strength, they can play with CCH(*)

Overall good baseball all around in the 33rd district. Coach Huff is a good coach and Boone does play a nice schedule. Same goes for Ryle. They both play a lot of teams from Louisville/Lex districts. I think Cooper will start to do the same type of thing with coach Collins on board and Conner also plays a tough schedule. You have to play a tough schedule in this district to survive the District tourney. Keep in mind that the last two Region 9 winners came out of this district.

No, you stated many of opinions in your original post without having any facts or being close to the program. You questioned our receiving corp without knowing, you generalized Ryle fans and said that they have dismissed O'Hara, and that a kid has been given the keys to a kingdom. Looks like to me that you are pretty much pot stirring. Things will work themselves out. We have a lot of talent and great kids. We will be just fine.

I wouldn't be so quick to say that they struggled. They played a very tough statewide schedule and have some very nice players on the roster, including a couple of kids that can really blossom at the QB position. You may be right that the record may not be as good next year but we will see when the games are played. Many people thought that this seasons freshman were not going to do as well but they just rolled through the freshman schedule.

I don't think there has been too many Ryle people post about it. People that know our kids would never dismiss Aaron O'Hara about anything. The kid is a baller and a great kid. We are leaving the decisions to our coach. Both kids are very capable and will be huge parts of a very talented team including the receiving postion that we will have this year, so no excuses there. As far as the faith comment, doesn't the Fieger kid from Beechwood play division 1a? Most are handing him the key to being number one in NKy. Both O'Hara and Morgan are every bit as athletic and can play QB with him any day.

I have always wondered why no shot clock as well. Not that I agree with 4 corners or "stall ball" but I have wondered why more coaches do not utilize it as a weapon since there is not one.

Not real familar with these three because I have not seen them first hand so just out of curiosity, have they signed anywhere yet?

I had not seen Holmes play until last night but finally got a look @ James Boldin. I was very impressed with how he got other people involved, ran the floor, and shot the ball. He had the look of a great player last night. He has to be in serious consideration.

Agreed.. Ryle had 5 sophomores play significant minutes in this one. Great energy last night from the young Raiders. Kids play hard for coach McFarland. This was the first time I had seen Bolden play in a few years. Wow.. really nice player and shot the ball well last night. A couple of his threes were from way down town and a couple were with players in his face.

Not sure I am in agreement with this. So, if the same kids come to your house to watch a game, you would need to communicate to them not to jump on your furniture and pull the banisters off of the wall. Comes down to upbringing. These kids need to have better common sense and parents need to teach them better.

I am not trying to make excuses. You may be right in that he played more than one play. I only mentioned that play because he fumbled and I remember him not playing much, if at all after that. I guess my point was that becasue he was injured, he did not play much at all and was not a factor in that game. Cooper definitely came to play that night more so than Ryle did. That being said, I would have loved to see those two match up later in the season. I believe it would have been a totally different ball game. I think you will see a different Ryle team this year versus Cooper.

I believe that they will. They have some very good skill players ready to make an impact. The issue with Ryle will not be at the skill spots, it will be at the line development. They have some good pieces there but the depth may be of concern.

He played one play and caught a screen that went for big yards and fumbled. He did not return because he was injured.

Both teams have some very young talent on their rosters. Ryle starts 5 juniors but the first three off of the bench have been 2 8th graders and a 7th grader. I believe Conner is a similar story.
