Agreed, Arwine was a great player and a great kid. There are a couple of receivers on the staff that will be every bit as good.

I don't know what you are watching but the receiver talent will be much better this year than last year. Of the starters all of them were open and scored on everyone they went against. Long scored a few TD's today, Pagliano had a few, Cusick had a few, Wright had some nice catches, Ashley had 5 or 6 TD's. If you throw in the RB position, Ryle may have some of the best skill players in NKY.

I gave Highlands credit and I believe we beat them a couple of years ago. I don't know about owning anyone.

This is a Ryle thread. We are supposed to converse about our team. I tire of the people that have to go to each thread and pound their chest.

Highlands is a great program but I am allowed to believe in our kids.

I was just having fun with you. On a serious note, I think the Cov Cath game to open the season will be tough but if we win that game, I think that we win all four. I do not think Dixie will be close. SK and Ryle is always tough but I like our chances.

Pick your poison, Ryle is not short of skill players to throw to: Bryce Ashley - JR -athletic, fast and can play(had over 100 and a TD versus DHHS in last years playoffs) Aaron OHara -JR - if not playing QB is athletic enough to give people fits catching passes. Jake Long -JR- moved to TE - fast and as athletic as they come. Jaret Pagliano- SR - hard worker and great receiver Cooper Scherr -JR- Big talent and can play with anyone. Zack Cusick - JR - Fast and a very good football player. Grant Beagle - SR - very good athlete, battling injuries but should be ready to go when the season starts. They also have a couple of sophomores that can play and will be really good when they get some seasoning.

Very misguided comment. I have no dog in the fight but saw many of the Ryle girl games this year and the parents were not an issue. It was pretty clear who should play and who were the better players. I don't know anything about this coach that you mention but I don't think he would be a nightmare to anyone.

URaiders are more of an independent team but are sanctioned through the Ky middle school state association. We play teams like Turpin, Glen Este, Highlands, Lex Cath, Corbin, Pulaski County, Southeast Indiana, etc. We would love to play more of the NKy Middle School Teams in the near future.

Not true. The Union Raiders have both a 7th and 8th grade Middle School team. There 7th, soon to be 8th grade team was one of the best in the state last year.

I don't think I said anyone was much better. Based on what I saw yesterday, I think that Ryle and Boone are better than Beechwood and Cov Cath. I mentioned in a thread before the Districts even started that I thought that the 33rd District was better than people were giving them credit for on here. I think Highlands is probably the deepest team and maybe the best but I am not saying that Boone and Ryle are better after the fact. I said that they would be a factor before the regional.

I am not being arrogant or inflammatory. I am just giving Boone respect after a hard fought win. The same thing Beechwood people would have been doing if they would have won. All the talk before the tourney from most on here was about how Beechwood would match up with Highlands. Both teams were very good but I believe Boone was a little better and I think they just proved it.

I think that it would be great if the High School tourney could be best of three, but I doubt that ever happens. Two good teams matched up their best pitchers and went at it. Better team won.

33rd may not always have the best team or highest ranked team according to all the "experts" out there but the 33rd is easily the toughest District top to bottom. I was not surprised at all at the results. I think the better team won in both games.

I heard a lot of people discounting Boone but I said a few weeks ago that the 33rd District will show up in the Regional. Boone, Ryle, Conner, and Cooper play tough schedules and every event in the 33rd is a dog fight. Congrats to The Rebels. The better team won.

Centerfielder for CCH made a Sportscenter highlight catch to save at least a double. I hope one of the parents got it on tape for that kid. Zieglemeyer and Rowe hit the ball very hard today. Nice performance by two good pitchers but the better team won today. Congrats to the Raiders!

I think Ryle got a pretty good draw. The only problem is DHS, who has pretty solid and deep pitching.

Having coached baseball for a long time and in this District/Region format, you would have to have one heck of a good reason why your ace was not on the hill in that game from inning one.

This is spot on. Let's focus on more positive things concerning the teams and kids playing football. Daddy Ball will not be a factor @ Ryle. Let's move on.
