Way to early to make any valid predictions for the 12th region. One of the weakest regions in the state last year, could be a little stronger this year. Any team with the addition of one outstanding player or at the same time a loss of one can change the complexion of this region in a moment. The seven footer at DC is not in any way comparable to a seven footer like Moreno that was certainly a game changer. Many times two big guys in the same lineup can end up getting a coach fired rather than being a dominant force. Just look back at the history of high school basketball in the state and you will see what I mean. How far did it take DC this year against really good competition?

Basically the Boyle starters only played the first half with a couple of exceptions. They had a couple of their one's out with injury. LC's only score came against the Rebels 3rd team defense. Looked like the Rebels went out of their way not to show much on offense. Still was a good performance on the road. I am sure LC will get better, just over matched last night.

This is a fan thing . I guarantee the team and coaches are not concerned about a mythical title that doesn't mean anything . Their mind and focus is on Scott County the next game and the 4A title which is real.

It was against the freshmen and JV's in the 4th quarter and no 1's were in and maybe no 2's. Get real. What did he do in the first 3 quarters?

If Boyle's defense gives up 14 I would be really surprised. Boyle scored 47 last year and I would expect more this time around.

I think Boyle dominates this year. LCA had a subpar performance in their scrimmage and Boyle was dominant without really showing what they are capable of with their total game. A running clock is possible.

Talk is cheap but results matter. Quisenberry at Boyle leads all the others in this category. We will all have to wait and see how this season plays out. Until then everything is just chin music.

Does Boyle have 7on 7 Saturday? If so, where?

Anxious to see the 2 QBs working with the best group of receivers in the state. Also the defensive backs with Bodner , Brown and Quisenberry to start with, plus some others that you haven't about yet can be very tough to throw against.

When does Boyle start their 7on 7? I know the dead period is over on the 9th.

Two questions. When does the dead period end in June? When can 7 on 7 begin in July? I keep hearing different dates on both.

I would move Paducah Tilghman to #2 and Taylor County out of top 10. Corbin has a lot of shoes to fill, but still belongs in the 3-6 group. Ashland could move up and Johnson Central still is a question mark. After the top 7 is any ones guess.

He is a gifted athlete in both sports and has that demeanor of being well grounded with his head on straight. Plays at a level beyond his age and grade level.

I don't know the Young man, but it looks like he made the best decision for him and the team. You would rather it happen now than later toward the beginning of the season. You have to be tough and committed to be the QB at Boyle. I believe Baylor Murphy and Guy Turner both fit that need really well. With the offensive talent that Boyle has the QB needs to be a good game manager and not make any dumb mistakes. Sure Dawson did a great job last year and neither QB can do every thing that he did, but they don't have to. With Haddix being the great QB coach that he is, I feel the Rebels will be just fine at that position this year.

With the transfer portal what it is today very few freshmen coming in have much chance to play or make an impact that freshman year. The only one I see remotely playing that first year is Quisenberry and that is highly improbable. Most players will be well served to finish out their senior year enjoy the sports they participate in and the other activities that go along with your senior year. You are only young once and you can't get it back once it is gone.

DCA the favorite if they get all the calls? Boyle just took it to them defensively. They also outrebounded them, shot better, had fewer turnovers, got the 50-50 balls but DCA bigs did have 4 blocks in the game. Now you want to blame it on the officiating. They still have not (EVER) won anything that matters and they deserve to be the favorite. Don't think so.

Please remember that these athletes are first of all football players that just happen to play basketball. They just finished an undefeated season, ranked number one among all classes and 4A champion in football. We would all like to see that carry over in basketball as well. The fact of the matter is they don't always shoot that well and that is why you often see them struggle against a zone. They hustle, play hard and compete. They are usually fun to watch and a team no one really wants to play come tournament time. If they practiced basketball year round like some of the local teams do, I am sure they would shoot better and win more games. Most of these players play 3 sports and represent Boyle really well. You really can't ask for much more. Also we need to see how the season shakes out. No team has won anything yet that matters.

Guy needs to catch and shoot . He is hesitating trying to fake his man and then it's too late. gives the defense a chance to recover. Don't know if he has lost some confidence or just the freshman over thinking. He has good shooting form, quickness and some hops. He just needs to realize that he is open, catch and shoot.

I was at the game and it was amazing that Boyle was down 1 with a little over 2 minutes to go and had the ball. Instead of using the clock to get a great shot, they settled for a quick off balanced shot and one of the DCA bigs rebounded. They scored and Boyle then took another bad shot DCA rebounded and that was the game. Boyle was outrebounded 36 to 20 in the game. Shot 35% and still had a great chance to win. DCA has great talent but I don't se them winning the region.

Whether we want to admit it or not, the 12th region is not that strong from 1 thru 10. Any of these teams can beat each other on a given night. One critical injury can ruin a teams chance come tournament time. I am not disagreeing with any of the comments that I have been reading, it is just a fact. DCA looks like an imposing team on paper, but their results show they are just a good team in a weak region. On the other hand the state has very few really strong teams this year so the 12th is not the only weak region. Starting two bigs like it has been suggested that DCA will do leaves them so vulnerable against a good pressing team. If a team has good 3 pt. shooters the 2 bigs can't guard them out on the perimeter. Another factor can be the location of the districts and regional tournament. Going to be interesting around tournament time.

The only people upset by this are the teams that Boyle are playing. These kids put it all on the line because they want to be the best. By the way the administration is very aware of this. The Superintendents son is the starting center on the Football team. I think the BB/FB players have a lighter lifting schedule on game day. nikeman 49 , your comment is typical of programs not willing to work hard enough on their own, so they try to tear down the one's willing to do so. You probably need to go spread your venom somewhere else. It is not going to work here.
