Clark without a doubt has more talent than Mason but I think its more mental than anything. They just can't get over the hump.

Trevor was going to Ok st but didn't do his NCAA clearinghouse which messed it all up. He could of waited for all of the stuff to be done(which would of called for him to sit out another year) but he instead decided to go to Pikeville because he wanted to play right away. He hadn't been on the court since the 08 championship game at this point so he was itching to play. As a matter of fact he averaged 13 points a game at Pikeville and was their second leading scorer this year. He keeps proving people like you wrong! As for Treg he will be on his way to Sourthern Illinois tomorrow and look for him to sign during the early signing period. He is very excited for the opportunity and recruiting analysts like Evan Daniels and Jody Demling have already commented on what a great pickup he is for Southern Illinois. Treg would have probably picked up bigger offers this summer but he feels right at home at Southern Illinois, look for him to shine there! :notworthy:

Coach Hall did a great job at Bracken, lead the Polar Bears to an upset of Mason County in the 1989 regional tournament.

How firm would you say Elliott County is being a favorite in 2011 out of the 16th? They need to find another shooting guard and their bench play has to improve! Nickell and Ison really have to step it up over the summer to give Timmy some help to solidify them in the state tournament next year. I would also suggest a stronger schedule, if for example Clark County would go along with it, play the Cardinals home and home.

I think you're right on Randy, most people I speak with have a hard time considering Shelby a true class-A school. Other people say Elliott's popularity with people centered around their style of play and say the fast-paced style is Kentucky's pace.

Why would we want him to go anywhere? We are 2-0 vs him in March! It is more fun to beat him! :clap:

Yeah I was just comparing the two primary ball handlers, I realize Ethan and Evan shared duties but one was a true point while the other was more spot up on the wing!

I think the real question in this debate is whether you would want Justice or Faulkner running the show for your respective school? What a choice to have between two great high school point guards!

No way it's 15 or more, granted on a given day the outcome could have gone either way but not a 15 point victory! Outside of the Mason game at the Fieldhouse can't recall Elliott ever getting ran out of the gym so just can't see that happening to them.

That's the thing with Elliott County people just don't get: there was that special something were they just captured Kentucky's and in some regards the nation's attention! True they didn't win any state titles but 20-30 years from now we will be still talking about that group, they somehow captivated us all!

Elliott County 2009! But the question has to be out there, does Shelby Valley winning the start tournament hurt the legacy of Elliott County? Another question, why did Elliott generate all this pub while Shelby Valley got little if any? I think 20 years from now if a book is written in regards to Kentucky high school basketball Elliott County's team will be included with Clay County, Cuba, Wayland, Carr Creek but on a side note might include this Shelby Valley team and their accomplishments. Still sad even a year latter Elliott could not pull it off, had all the ingredients for a GREAT movie!

I'm fairly sure from what I read of last year's estimates that attendance was up for last year's tourney over the ten year period before it, I would think that had alot to do with Elliott County and all the preceeding pub they received. For whatever reason Shelby Valley never had the popularity or intrigue the Lions had and with no team everybody can rally around and the economy it hurts attendance! Mason County has graduated from a feel good story to a state powerhouse and no longer receive the backing from all others in the state going back to the early 80's. If say Elliott County went on a 30 year tear like Mason nobody would feel the buzz anymore either, the little teams with that small window of opportunity is what get big crowds to the state tournament.

I first want to say that Shelby Valley is just a better team than Mason Co. When Valley is shooting like that it would be very hard for Mason to beat them. Justice is a stud that Mason Co. had no answer for. Once again O'Hearn got this team here but I do not understand why Blueford was not in the game. Blueford was the player of the game the first game up here and only played 14 minutes last night and probably about 14 today. That is awful. Good run though for the Royals. The majority of the older guys have their ring and now they got a chance to lead a team back to Saturday at Rupp. It does not get any better than that. Justin Lang I love watching you play with the heart that you play with. Blueford you had a heck of a year after you started getting playing time. Goodluck to all the seniors!

A little side note to 79 Lafayette: after losing the district title game Generals coach Jock Sutherland busted up the runner-up trophy in the locker room and told the players a loser would get on the floor to pick pieces up of a loser's trophy. Motivation that must have worked!

How many players off the 2005 Pendleton County Wildcats make the 10th region Hall of Fame? A case could be made for all named Tyler Mains Mason O'Hara Patrick Elliott John Elrod I would have to think Keaton Belcher is an absolute lock and the only reason he didn't go in this year was because of him still playing. Will the fact Pat Elliott only played two years in the 10th hurt him, or will being named 10th region MVP put him over the top?

Mason Co. fans lets stay off this thread, arguing with a person over something so stupid. We all know that this person is stating false information just because they ended up on the losing side. Lets be the bigger people and just let them talk to each other about the excuses that they make up. Afterall, don't we have bigger things to worry about like the game vs North Hardin? Oh yeah, we have a game in RUPP next week! Lets Go!

I agree East Carter was the best team! In my opinion Elliott was the most exciting to watch and had the best story line: trying to replace a great 09 team and what TK was gonna do from night to night. I would think Elliott would have to be 16th region preseason number 1 with what they have coming back.

When Timmy Knipp and the Elliott County Lions were eliminated the zeal went out for the 16th region. You need TK and the crew to generate the fun.

A lot of people will get to see the freshman from Shelby Co., Hicks I believe? Also, I have heard a lot about Ballard as a team but haven't got to see them yet this year. I am anxious to see them and I am sure they have some nice athletes. They usually do:thumb:

I would expect this also, but to me GRC has a lot to improve on if they want to win the whole thing. You have to have a point guard and you need some contribution off the bench. Without these two things it is next to impossible to win it all no matter how big of a starting five you have. GRC could overwelm teams with their size this year and will be able to do it next year but I don't see them winning big in the post season until them two problems are somewhat solved.
