Have it at the Field House and get that HCA baby!

J/K guys! I couldn't resist!

They have a great coach and a well-rounded team led by 2 bulldog guards. That a formula for success in March!!!

Strength

1. They have a good coach

2. They have been there before.

3. They got a good draw.

I questioned royals against Clark but will never question again. they have excellent guard play, strong inside presence, smart coaching and most important a team attitude that just wont quit. These bunch will not back down from the challenge. I expect the Royals to be playing Saturday.

This year's Royals aren't your older brothers' Royals. Must rely more than ever on defense to get the job done. Don't have a "go-to guy" like Lofton, Miller or Middleton to light it up on offense.

As a result, this team rarely blows anyone out, but rarely gets blown out. Look for scores in the 50s or maybe the 60s at most instead of the 70s and 80s.

Strengths:

Experience. Just about everyone on this team has played at Rupp twice.

Basketball intelligence. Goes hand-in-hand with the above. Almost always win the turnover battle.

Quickness. This helps when playing on the larger court.

Team defense. Held most opponents well under their scoring average this year.

Weaknesses:

Free-throw shooting. A team can get by once in a while going 13-26 from the line, but not often.

Slow starts. I've seen Mason County fall behind by double-digits very early to Holmes, Ashland, etc. Can't dig too deep a hole at Rupp.
