I don't think at this stage of Geisler's career you can even compare him to Bing. Jennings wasn't what I would call a big man other than in the backside area. He was only 6'4" but played much bigger than that. Strong scorer from anywhere on the floor and a rebounder reminiscent of Sir Charles Barkley. I remember the game when Jack scored 68 against none other than NCC. It was an unbelieveable night of basketball. Had Jack been 3 or 4 inches taller he could have played in the NBA imo.

Seriously! Good coaches have everything to do with getting kids at this age ready to play and making them believe they can beat a team that they haven't and assuring that they don't lay down for a team that they have. Never confuse high school kids with prima donna college and pro players who think they know more than the coach. How can you say that I am giving a team too much credit that just gave Boone Co. the scare of their lives? If they go on and win the region they will remember just how close they were to sitting home instead of moving on.

I would think that somebody like Walter, Statman or Clyde, to name a few would be able to break the teams down. They have seen most of the top teams in the region play and play each other.

The stage is almost set for what should be an exciting 9th region tournament. The teams are set but it remains to be seen who plays whom. With 3 strong districts come 3 strong losers on Sunday morning. Who gets what will appear to be the luck of the draw and have to face St. Henry? Now I know that a lot of you on here will say that the Cru has a legitimate shot to upset Dixie and anyone else in the region but we all know that is not likely to happen. So some lucky team will draw them in the first round of the regional which means that the other three district winners will draw Holmes/CCH, Boone Co./Ryle or Highlands/NCC. I know that to be the best you have to beat the best but it sure would be nice to have that good first round draw. Matchups, matchups, matchups!!

Coaches don't let their teams lay down for Cooper. They know that Cooper will always be prepared and if they let their guard down they can be beaten by the Jags. Cooper is fast getting a reputation for playing hard and giving you their best shot.

Sometimes it looks like Cooper is stalling but believe me that is not coach Sullvan's style at all. You can attribute a lot of this to the in-your-face defense that coach Sullivan demands from his kids. They make teams work very hard to get a good shot each and every time down the court. On offense he demands patience and you won't see them just chuck up a lot of wild shots. If they are open for the 3 he allows it but they are always looking to get the easy bucket. Trust me you will never see a team play harder than the Cooper kids do. They leave it on the court everytime they play. Congratulation Jags on an improving season record and know that your time will come.

This has to bode well for coach Sullivan @ Cooper. If there are as many doubters as it sounds like at both these schools I would think that given an opportunity to have their kids play for a coach like coach Sullivan they would do everything possible to make it happen. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the talent at the younger levels at these two schools migrate Cooper's way in the future. Who knows they might just become the powerhouse in the 33rd district

It doesn't make any difference. Neither of these teams was going to beat Ballard, J'Town, Eastern or Trinity in the regional.

Nobody in the other districts is going to want to draw the loser of this district in the first round of the regional.

Won't happen. Look for CCH to come out in a 1-3-1 zone and try to make the Bulldogs make shots from outside. They were not able to guard the speed of Holmes in their first meeting.

It's all about matchups.

Much closer than everyone on here anticipated but give credit to the Beechwood kids for not paying any attention to what we thought.

That's a very large student crowd considering they only have about 500 students in the whole school.

What is scary here is that Ballard may not even make it out of the 7th region. How tragic would that be that people would not get to see the Bruins in Lexington? The 7th region will truly look like a state tournament.

38 points in the 2nd quarter? That will bury a lot of teams no matter how undermanned they are.
