I get it. You dont follow girls basketball. I know that there are several people who love boys basketball and could totally care less about the girls side of things. Thats fine, I really don't care. But the reality is that the girls side has been far more successful in this state then the boys side of things...at least in terms of national rankings and division 1 players. I dont care if you don't follow the girls side, but it's pretty offensive to suggest "because you know a girls name" she should win miss basketball. Erin Boley is maybe the best girls player to ever come out of the state of Kentucky. She literally could play anywhere in America. She is hands down the best basketball player in the state. It's not even close. If you want to make the argument that miss basketball is a high school basketball award and not a "who is the better at basketball" award then maybe you could make an argument for creech. She's had a great career full of mind boggling individual stats. But don't suggest that creech should win the award "because you know here name" or because "she's been on sportscenter." It's degrading and offensive to those who follow the womens side of things in this state.

the 9th has a lot of parity. The reality is that someone will win the tournament. If you played it 10 times in a row you might have 4 or 5 different winners. The team that wins it won't necessarily be the best team, but it will be the team that survives the mine field a couple of weeks from now and that's what makes one and done postseason play so exciting!

If anyone other then Butler or Mercy won it I would be surprised. I would give Bullitt East an outside chance with Duvall coming back. But lots of unknowns with her coming back so late in the year.

IMO there are only 2 reasons that I would transfer schools with my kid. 1. The entire experience in the school...from athletics to academic to social life are not good for my kid. For the most part, where you play high school basketball has little effect on where you go to college. If you are good enough to play college basketball, get on the summer AAU circuit. 2. The basketball team at my childs current school is so bad that they simply will not have any chance to compete. Think like single digit wins against bad competition.

The biggest investment the state of kentucky needs to make is introducing a shot clock.

If there are a couple of traditionally stronger schools it makes no sense for those lesser schools to vote to seed. And in order to change you must get a majority vote. Tie votes revert back to no change.

No, but that's how the 8th does it. It rotates by district each year. I remember teams from the 30th complaining when Simon hosted several years ago (Anderson won the region that year). Same when it was at Anderson (walton won the region that year) a few years later. So while the drive certainly could play a factor, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

bottom is "loaded" but the top should have some quality teams in it. Mercer Simon Kenton Franklin Ryle/Holmes Mason/Campbell Should make for a lot of good games on both ends of the bracket

go watch KY Premier play this spring/summer. Likely chance that both girls are playing together against some of the best competition in America.

The issue is in how officials are evaluated. It's hard to get an unbiased game on the road out of region and it's not because of bad officials (although there are plenty of those)...it's because those officials know exactly who is evaluating their performance. Hard to even blame them.

I think this qualifies as an understatement.

I would say there are several 2020's across the state that are still relatively "unknown." I had not seen igo play until this past fall. I have never seen (to my knowledge at least) the young kid at Ryle who has been referred to in this thread. I am sure (from the comments) that she is also talented. I am sure there are several 2020's who didn't play on one of the teams that played at AAU state. Several organizations (ky premier and others) don't play in those events.

Igo plays with Kentucky Premier. She is, undoubtedly, one of the best 2020's in the state of Kentucky.

the 9th is extremely competitive. Ryle has played some of the best teams in Northern Kentucky really well. Hard to stack any of them up at this point. Should have a clearer picture once we hit the new year...
