I guarantee that someone will come up with all these answers prior to the next time it will be fired which is at around 7 or 7:30 on Friday night. P.S. Don't forget to factor in all the times that it has been used in send offs for other teams as well. I am pretty sure that when Jamie (Walz) Ritchie played basketball, they shot it a few times for send offs for them going to the tournaments. I also remember a few times that it was shot in excess after a big win. And don't forget the two times it was transported out of the city for away games: Cov Cath and at Ashland Paul Blazer in 92(although they told us that if we fired it, the person that did would be going to jail, and they had about a dozen mounties chomping at the bit to slap on the cuffs). That's a very interesting question as to: Do they keep a log of how many loads are made, used, and didn't work etc. for each game? I will be interested to hear all the stats on this. I am pretty sure that this cannon has been repaired and/or serviced over the years.

Let's not forget the 91 yarder that Head had for the game opener Friday night. I know, I know, this thread is about Collinsworth. Austin is truly amazing. His father must be proud. His mother is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I think he has everything going for him right now. Lookout D-1's, he will be on your radar soon. I smell a orange and blue team far south of here, or a blue and white team not very south of here. I think it is going to be his choice where he feels like going.

I can't believe people are worried about our secondary. How many picks did HHS have this past week? I am counting the one that Collinsworth caught but the "refs" took away from him. Also, to those of you who don't want to see blowouts anymore, stay home! We don't want to inconvenience you into coming and watching the young sons of this community having the time of their lives. God forbid you bear witness to that! If you don't want to see a blowout, stay home until the state semi's and we'll call ya. I for one get an upset stomach watching the close ones and am much more at ease seeing the JV out there showing weather or not next year is going to be prosperous. I guess I am just a different kind of "Bird" than others, but I'll take a win, be it by 50 or by 1.

I would say that Conner and Crawford from HHS, with a close runner up in Head, followed by Alford, then True from the Frosh team.

I agree. I think if maybe he was at another school where he went in and didn't know anyone, maybe he could make it work. I don't see him playing favorites though after coaching with him in another sport. Oh well, good luck to him and his former school.

No visible ones. But I did see Turner get up kindof gingerly on one play. That was about it. Collinsworth could send a copy of this game to any college to show all his versatility. Head has also become a very good return man. HHS is starting to peak at just the right time.

I guess we should go ahead and apologize to all the moderators for this one, since I am sure that many will be getting on here to share their same feelings. I know that it's not right to question a ref's, coaches, or players' integrity, but if you didn't see this game you couldn't possibly understand. This was the worst officiated game (including Jr Football) that I have ever witnessed in all my 31 years of existence. I truly believe that Dale has every right to file a formal complaint about the lopsided, "questionable" calls from the men in stripes tonight.

According to LN, they've already scheduled the FTJFL games to be played tomorrow morning. So I guess that's a no. LN is a pretty reliable source. I know I may get some howling from the peanut gallery on that last sentence.

Pretty sure it was just a 2 pt conversion. But the point is, he was in the game and looked good! JV was being filtered in at end of 1st quarter, by 2nd half it was all JV.

I know that all will say that this is a moot point, but I feel that I must get it off my chest. In both scoring drives for Scott, the Refs made many "questionable" calls to keep the drive going. The last straw was taking away a clear interception by Collinsworth and saying it was a completion for Scott. I know everyone is going to say "They won by 54!" That's not the point. The point is, the refs must call a fair game on both sides of the ball and there was a clear block in the back right in front of the ref among other calls that should have been called against Scott that weren't. If I were Dale, I would write a formal complaint to the KHSAA. At one point, it was like 5 penalties in a row against HHS to help get Scott inside the 5 yard line. On the subject of the actual football that took place. It was the Austin Collinsworth show. Nice to see Conner in to convert the 2 pt conversion. Head had a terrific 91 yard opening kick off return for a touchdown. Collinsworth did it all tonight though. He ran a kick, a punt, an interception, and caught a perfectly threaded pass from Tony all for touchdowns. Crawford ripped off some great runs and that's pretty much it folks. This team did have a lot of penalties and that was not good. Some of the penalties in the beginning of the game were legit, but not on the two Scott scoring drives. It seemed like if it looked like Scott wasn't moving the ball well enough, the refs would just shove them along. I just want it to be abundantly clear to all those Cov Cath fans that may feel bad that Scott scored on HHS and they didn't to know that it was the refs that should get their name in the paper tomorrow. Regardless of the score, the rules still apply and kids need to know that it's not right.

Agreed! What Byron Leftwich-like heart that kid showed to drag himself up and down that field to lead his team to a great finish. I almost thought Ryle was coming back there at the end until that tipped ball got picked. What a great opportunity to get to see that game on FSN. I wish they would do that more often. Not that I would stay home from an HHS game, but it's nice to see some of the local kids playing on the big screen. Great game by both teams, but I don't think that this'll be the last time you 2 meet this year. Playoffs???

LN, Can you keep us posted if HHS found a JV opponent for tomorrow? They could always play Brossart's Varsity. I am not sure if they have a game tomorrow or not, but I bet they'd take the game. That program needs to see what it's all about. And, they don't have a field anyway, so we could just do it at HHS and it all works out. BBHS gets a game, JV get some playing time, and the field is covered. I know this is so far-fetched, but it's all I could think of on short notice.

I think that the Colonels will come out firing on all cylinders for this one and shock the world. Just kidding. I would say that if they didn't like the score of when they played HHS, they'll really hate the score of this one. Elder wins big.

I disagree with that. I think that Spritzky has a burr in his boot about HHS for some odd reason and you can't tell me that the frosh coaches didn't do that intentionally, however, not upset about it. If our guys couldn't stop it, they we deserve to get beat like that. I guarantee this though, they wont forget it happened.

Not it is not normal. I believe that may have been a slight fabrication of the truth. I know for a fact that when I played Frosh for coach Barr we had alteast 10 different plays. 20 if you count running them to each side.

Ouch! Maybe some of these Colonel Frosh should be playing varsity?????? Look at this Elliott kid from Ryle. I am watching him tear it up against Conner on FSN Ohio. Wish we could get a Bluebird game on there. I could do without Lapp and Brad though. Elliott is a solid Frosh. Maybe more teams could look at that. Why not? If there is a kid that is skilled enough and has the size, let them do double-duty. Just from the height alone, I would say Pike would be a good kid to have on the Dixie varsity sideline. Hmmmmm.......Couldn't hurt Spritz, give it a shot. By the way, kudos to Dixie Frosh for beating a pretty solid HHS team. Sounds like the Colonels will be good in the next few years. Guess we better look out.

I am very happy to hear that. I figured that is what it was. I dealt with some parents from Scott when coaching. There are a lot of siimilarities between Taylor Mill and Fort Thomas. There are many parents and families that are passionate about their community. I just didn't like the way that one of their own was treated last year. If you all stay vigilant and patient, good things will come. These kids just need some consistency.

Any game updates for the Frosh?

Wow, the natives are restless. I just hope they let us get out of there safely. I can honestly say now that I am happy that Casey got out of there. He is way too good of a person to get mixed up in all this. It sounds like more of the same that went on last year when they were calling for his head. I can't understand a program that at one point were winless for 4 straight seasons, feeling that they are going to get a quick fix and emerge as this great playoff team, being in no doubt one of the toughest districts in KY or in any of the 6 classes. Some of the talk last year was baffling. I will stay on point. I am disappointed that they have decided to take their ball and stay home on Saturday. Guess that means that all the JV will have to get their reps on Friday. This is, however, not fair to some people. Now the Frosh who were playing on JV don't get any playing time this weekend, unless Dale wants to let them dress for Friday. I just think its a shame.

If we got upset about each risky play that Dale tried and didn't work, there wouldn't be any HHS fans. You have to either be with your new coaching staff or not. I am a close personal friend of Casey Fisk and hated to see him leave, but it is what it is. There have been many times that I have wondered about Dale, especially when he came in after the Tyrany of Thomas Francis Duffy. Dale had a different way about things and it took me a long time to get used to it. I am a Dale supporter and I will stand by him through the good and sometimes questionable calls. We're all human and a lot of calls made on the sideline have many human factors and "gut feelings" that go into the decision made. I will tell you this: Scott HS will never be successful until your entire community can get behind your program, and you stop losing kids to the Dixie and SK programs. Good Luck and hopefully you all have found what you have been looking for in this new coach.

Any word on Josh Connor and if he may make his debut this week to atleast get some reps, or do they wisely rest him in a game that clearly could be won by the fully loaded JV! It seems that our JV program could rival some Varsity programs. Great Job, keep it up boys. I think that Scott is better and much due to the groundwork laid by the previous coach Mr. Fisk, now an assistant at Cov Cath. I think that this new coach may have added a tweak or two of his own, but Casey laid the ground work with these players. Good luck Scott and let's come out and have a good clean game.
