I am laughing very uncontrollably at all of these posts, however, if it weren't for a lot of the "free help" from the dads of several players, the Bluebirds wouldn't have all the things they do. Thanks so all the Dads, AND MOMS! You work doesn't go unnoticed.

Well.......Don't keep us waiting in suspense! Tell us who all these terribly insensitive coaches are. I want to know so that I'll make sure and never go watch them WIN a game. I completely agree LN! They are great players but are still young and need some experience to get even better.

Coming off the Highlands/Holmes 64-point margin, there was discussion of just coming up with a final point spread that would just end the game immediately, sort of like a 10-run rule in baseball. Any thoughts to this????

Unless HHS is up by the necessary 45 points that I believe warrants a running clock, I think they could use the practice. If we keep pulling the starters whenever the score is high at half, they will never get any conditioning or endurance for second half play when playoff time comes. I know this may trigger some reaction, but the starters need the time on the field too! Sorry if it's at someone else's expense. It's kind of the same deal with the Holmes game. Do you just want us to punt every down in the second half if we're up? Or do you want those 2's and 3's to just lay down and not play their hardest when they finally get a chance to get in there?

I don't remember exactly when but it was several years ago and you thought they won the dagone superbowl or something! I was very upset walking out having all those Dixie fans screaming all kinds of nasty things at us. And, NO Dixie team is ever better than Highlands, not even that team, that year. I will never say another team is better than HHS!

I guess there's not too much fuss about this one. I hope that everyone is not looking past this game. I know that Highlands is the better team but Dixie beat HHS previously when Highlands was supposedly the better team. Take em 1 at a time. Come on fellas, don't look past these Red Colonels to the Blue Colonels next week!

Don't look now, but I am picking Eagles to be 3-0 after this week. I am also not serious in this pick for I am a die-hard HHS fan. I actually need Cov Cath to win so they aren't too upset when they get to HHS next week for the big show.

Looks like Central is picking up right where they left off. That was one of the best games I watched when we went down there and barely escaped defeat. That is a talented ball club. Congrats and good luck the rest of the season Central! Maybe now you all will get some of the notoriety you deserve and we were talking about last year.

Well, luckily for them, not too many teams from western side of KY make to state each year. So look at it this way, we're saving you gas money by beating you. I hear gas is going up to 5 or 6 bucks today due to Hurricane.

I would love to get out to see the game, but my wife, a Brossart grad, is celebrating her birthday today so we are out. I'll be rooting for the Stangs to get their first win.

If this kid heals and is able to get back out there for the second half of the season, he may put up more numbers in half a season the some of these guys will in an entire season! Conner was walking with an air-cast on last night at the Routing of Holmes 70-6. Think of how bad it could have been with him in the lineup.... IMO, Conner, if able to come back, will run the gamut in the second half of the season and the deciders that be must consider this when deciding on the real MR FOOTBALL. But don't forget about Tony Guidugli. He could end up being a candidate as well.

So Newport will be busy tonight!!! First BBHS/Walton, then NCC/Ryle. The old Newport Field could never handle that. If any place ever needed field turf, it was that one. Great job Wildcats on helping out all the under-privileged Catholic schools of the area. Thanks....Wish I could see the Stangs and the Breds play but my wife's birthday takes precedence. Well put. Just because they were having a bad night doesn't mean we should lay down. If anyone was at that game you would know that in the very beginning of the game, Holmes put together a very impressive drive and I actually was quite nervous. The score of 28-6 at half doesn't reflect how close it could've been without all the turnovers. Once they learn to hang on to the ball, they'll be a solid ball team.

I know, I mean come on! The only thing that I would even come close to putting into question was passing the ball in 3rd quarter for a touchdown to Roller. But as I thought about it, the Birds needed some practice passing since they didn't get to do that very well, or very much in first two games. Once Roller scored, I got my kids and started heading for the door. From the time we stood up and I got them out of bleachers, stopped at bathroom, I think Holmes coughed it up twice and HHS scored 2 more times within the 5 minutes giveortake, that we were leaving. So, come on!!! I will say that I was very impressed with the play selection and calling by Lickert's offense. The only issue was, they just had butterfingers all night. Sometimes that happens, you just get a case of the "drops."

Technically you are wrong. Louisville is not the largest city in KY. Independence, KY 41051 is geographically. Louisville's actual city limits are not as large as they appear. Either way, I still love Louisville. I would hate it if it moved to BG. Not because of anything against BG and how nice their fans are to us Bluebird fans......I just like the ability to head down to the games each year. I have gone several years with friends and family when HHS was not even in the finals. When it's only 1.5 hrs away, you can do that. When it's 4+ hours away, not worth the trip unless you got a dog in the fight so to speak. I am sure that BG is really nice and I would actually love to go to the Corvetter museum sometime, but not for state football games.

Personally I would hate it too if I were coach Barr. However, I am not and apparently he doesn't mind the extra help whereas some may view it as stepping on toes. I think he is breeding winning. If you stress winning at the freshmen level and get involved personally, it becomes more of an audition for the young men on that frosh team. Now if Dale was coming in and completely taking over, that would be a shame. I don't think that's the case but I'm not on the sideline.
