While sitting at the HHS/Colerain game, a guy was giving updates and when I heard that Cov Cath was down by so many, I thought that the people of Park Hills will be calling for Brossart's head. Then the next update was "Oh My GOD! Cov Cath came back and is winning with seconds left!" When I heard that, I knew that the Colonels still have some fight in them. As for the Breds, you'll just have to do what we are doing this week, regroup after a tough loss, and move on to next week. Good luck to both teams.

Sorry to threadjack, but, is anyone going to start a Highlands/Holmes thread? It's time to move on to this week's opponent.

As I said in a previous thread, Highlands is one of the best teams in the state of Kentucky, period. If you disagree, come play us and find out. I don't accept the moral victory stuff. I was sitting over there in the rain watching the Cards run all over us. The one thing I can say is, our boys got right up and hit them right back. We went to my nephew's game at IU, he plays for Murray. I saw a kid with a Colerain shirt on and we asked if he played for Colerain. The first thing out of his mouth is, "Wow, you guys were really good. We honestly didn't expect you to be that fast. ...and that Collinsworth kid is fast and he hits really hard." When I heard that, THEN I felt proud of our boys. Up until that moment last night I felt just as dejected with any other loss. I do however believe that this LOSS to Colerain just put those boys in the driver's seat for 5A champ aspirations. Really, I think that all this loss did was wake the sleeping bear, so to speak. I look for HHS to start showing why they are the best and unfortunately for Mr. Lickert, it starts this week with Holmes. Is anyone going to start a Highlands/Holmes thread BTW????????????????

I appreciate your entusiasm and your attempt to prod some provocation....however, when you want a response, please have all of the information. If you think that SK/Dixie is even remotely close to HHS/Colerain. Wow! I don't even have anything to say to that but I just hope that with your time on this site, maybe you'll get a better understanding of high school football. That's one good thing about being on here. You'll learn a lot.

They split up some classrooms into two and also, they have a huge Kindergarten at this school. Either way, it's a ton of people and eventually FT Schools will have to get newer elementary schools because there are so many people that want their kids to go to a Blue ribbon school. I mean when this honor is only bestowed on less then 50 in the entire country, wouldn't you want your kid there?

He never had enough time to throw the roll out passes. Those boys were so fast that they made Collinsworth and Crawford look like they were standing still. In response to CF about why do we play all these guys both ways? I am sorry you don't agree with it, in the past we haven't had as many guys on both sides of the ball. The truth is, we just don't have the 1200 boys to pick from like the big schools do. I think we have maybe 400 boys at our school. Out of those boys, not many play because of playing other sports and the commitment to football would pretty much consume their entire life. Not many guys are ready for that. I only wish we could have those numbers. From what I am seeing at the elementary level, we may become a bigger school in the next ten years. Just at my kids school, they have gained almost 150 more students this year from last. I think they said it was 340 or so last year and now it's like 480 for this year. The other problem is, some of those kids may choose to go to a different high school. I think that Fort Thomas schools will always be smaller than those big schools and the Birds will never have 90+ players like some of these other programs. I am completely fine with seeing just the best of the best out there. In '92 we had only 35 or so players on our entire team and we won state. It can be done. Birds looked much more in tune last night. I really liked how comfortable Crawford is getting with the football. His new little spin move caused fits for the Colerain D and probably got him atleast 20 more yards on top of his runs. I know everyone speaks of Mr. Conner who is great, but now we have a young man in Mr. Crawford who has stepped in and become another threat. Just think about a backfield with both of them in it come playoff time. I know that Dale said that there are no moral victories at Highlands, but last night was like poking the sleeping bear. I almost feel sorry for the teams that remain on HHS' schedule. It's going to be like a Hurricane blowing from Fort Thomas to the Pizza Box. GO BIRDS!!! Gotta go watch Pumpkin play at IU for the Murray State Racers!!!!
