Is the Colerain loss a moral victory for the Birds?

I saw in the Enquirer where Coach Mueller said there are no such things as moral victories at Highlands but I wonder what everyone else thinks.

So is this a moral victory for Bluebirds????

No moral victories at Highlands, only wins and losses. We can still be proud of our team and the way it played though! :thumb:

Great minds think alike...:thumb:

And it obviously is a moral victory to some just by reading the first post in the game thread...

Moral victories don't count in the win/loss columns, but it was definitely a moral victory, and I think it should be looked at as such. Highlands lined up against one of the top teams in the country and played them tight. I think the Highlands coaching staff has to have some satisfaction in that.

I think it is a loss. I agree with Dale, no moral victories. Does it help prepare the team for the post season? Without a doubt. Can you be proud of the way your team played and lose? Sometimes. Can you be proud of the way your team played and win? Sometimes.

When you expect to win, losing is not a victory... :thumb:

33-6 was the biggest margin...

33-6 was the biggest margin...

Thanks. That would tell me to say its not a moral victory. A moral victory would require them to be competitive on both sides of the ball but simply be outmanned in the end.

13-6 at half may be a moral victory but ...

A moral victory would require them to be competitive on both sides of the ball but simply be outmanned in the end.

Outside of a roughly 10 minute stretch of clock they were very competitive on both sides of the ball...

Not going to hijack the thread but this nonsense has to stop, and it has to stop NOW.

I have been watching Colerain football for almost 2 decades and this team is one of the weakest I've seen in a while. THEY ARE NOT ONE OF THE TOP TEAMS IN THE COUNTRY!!! NOT EVEN CLOSE TO IT!

Colerain made mistake after mistake tonight and that kind of effort will get them summarily dismissed from the playoffs, probably in round 2.

So please, do not think for one minute that this team is one of the best in the country. They aren't even the best team in Ohio, and maybe not even Cincy right now.

Thank you,

I agree that a loss for a program like Highlands, will never be a moral victory. That said, the staff saw tonight they have a squad that never will quit, and they hit one of the best PROGRAMS in the nation, right in the mouth. I, for one, am proud of the Birds, and am embarassed that I didn't give them more credit. Great job Highlands, regroup and make your run...I will root for you to win the title, ONLY if we win ours....haha

Thanks. How many points did Colerain score in those 10 minutes?

I agree with Gunner11, I'm sure it will help them down the road since they played a very strong program but I believe HHS thinks they can win every game they play.

Good call, CF. They've certainly earned their praise with 3 wins against tough teams. St X with their qb in the playoffs will be a true test for Colerain.

You just made so many enemies with this post but at least you tell them how it is. :thumb:
