  1. Good win for Scott and just shows how wide open the 10th is this year. Should be a fun ride.
  2. Loved it when Charlie Rogers put his hand to his ear as if they were not loud enough....LOL The picture of it reminds me of the classic "call me" photos of Cousins from the Miss. St. game.
  3. Pendleton's experience and playing at home should add up to a win for them.
  4. Have to think GRC will win this one but they are inexperienced also and like Mercer will need time. Anxious to see them this year.
  5. I have been waiting since April to start the basketball season. In the next few days have UK women vs. Louisville and Duke, a couple of GRC JV and Varsity games, games at the Y where my daughter cheers, the UK games on TV and a whole lot of other TV games. It's great to be busy!
  6. A very good road win for GRC in front of a crazy crowd.
  7. Clark/Pendleton will be a great matchup to see where these two teams stand in the 10th.
  8. Okay we have beat this horse to death on where the region should be held. Mason is apparantly the center of the universe but it is not centrally located for all teams but no location in this region is. Geographically it is spread out but until it is redrawn it is what it is and there isn't any reason that Mason and Pendleton fans can not make the drive to Montgomery just as Clark and Montgomery have driven to Mason for decades. You rarely have the NKY team fans complain about the drive to Montgomery. As to Mason having the most fans of course it is at their home and part of their heritage for the tourney to be there so they naturally will have the most fans. As for the long drive to BKOC for Montgomery and Clark fans it may be a few miles further but the roads are better so the time is about the same. Maysville has a nice selection of motels and restaurants but it is not that much better than Mt. Sterling and runs a distant second to Northern KY. But the bottom line is that there are at least two other locations in the current region that can host the tourney and it is fair to ALL fans to have it rotate. Now back to the thread. Montgomery, Pendleton and maybe Harrison are the top three teams but Mason and Clark will be there at the end. But right now my pick has to be Montgomery with POY being Prewitt.
  9. Not sure I would put Black in the top two yet but in the top 10 for sure. I would probably go Prewitt and then Monroe from Pendleton as the top two in the preseason. Besides Black who else do they have coming back that got a lot of varsity minutes last year?
  10. I would expect Mason traditionally being Mason that by the end of the year they will easily win their district and be a team that can make a run in the regional. Is Black going to play this year or just concentrate on football?
  11. Per Jody Demling's twitter, Snider verbaled tonight to Louisville.
  12. I don't know but the regional is a showcase for the schools who do make it and are fighting for a chance to go to Rupp not simply a fundraiser for the smaller schools. It is nice that sometimes it is a financial boom for those schools but that is not a reason to jump at the coach and AD change at Montgomery as a chance to take it back to Mason. The new coach will inherit a nice team. Let him, Prewitt, Handshoe and the others have a chance to make this a magical season and to do it at home. I am certainly not a Montgomery supporter but it looks like it could be their time and I wish them the best in their search for the new coach. He will have good team but will be trying to fill the shoes of a very good coach. The chemistry could be interesting with the high expectations for this team.
  13. I'd rather take my chances with the new hires at Montgomery. Thanks anyway for the thought. Besides Montgomery may be the team to beat in the 10th this year and they should have the chance to do it at home just like the others ... or I mean the other.
  14. A lot of good players were definitely left off and some odd selections made it. I also think that this was a better than average year for talent in this state. But it almost certainly will not be good enough to beat IN but that doesn't mean that this year was not more talented than usual.
  15. Congratulations but w/o a doubt his Sweet Sixteen performance changed a lot of peoples votes as it should have. He had a very special tourney.
  16. I think Bopper's scoring will go up significantly this year. He can shoot some from three and with fewer scorers we should see him driving to the basket more. I can see him averaging 10 to 12, maybe a bit more.
  17. That was around the time I started hearing folks from the Madison Central program starting to talk about the possibility that they would lose Allen Feldhaus, Jr. as he might be heading home. But you always hear things about who is going where or what player might be moving next year and they rarely pan out. Glad it looks like both will be staying put. I'm interested in seeing what happens with Central next year they should be a real contender in the 11th.
  18. I really like Montgomery and then Pendleton. After that it is really wide open. Personally speaking I think GRC will have a decent team next year. Fatkin should come into his own after playing behind the other bigs from the last few years and I see Bopper scoring quite a bit more now that he won't be deferring to this year's players. Throw in Rogers and those three give some place to start. But for now Montgomery has to be the favorite based on talent and isn't the region at Montgomery in 2012?
  19. WOW! Thought after yesterday and having seen Eastern play twice that they were going to win it all. But that is why the game is played, just ask U of L.
  20. After reading your post from the Clark/Oldham prediction thread below: Obviously drinking the Kool Aid. Game will be MUCH closer than that. OC has good size and discipline...GRC has one of those. No surprise here to see OC with an upset since everyone has GRC and Eastern on Friday. Not sure why all the negativity towards GRC.
  21. Yes, GRC will have to have a great game to beat Eastern but they are capable of having a great game. They only lost to Boys and Girls HS out of NYC, a nationally ranked team by a few points and were very competitive. They beat Warren Central with ease by double digits this year. So they are capable but will it happen? We will know tomorrow. GO CARDS!
