Have to say the the Left side of the infield for Beechwood is pretty good. That would be Josh Bertke and Zach Larimore, both Sohomores.

I ask you the same question, I believe that if either team posts their schedule it shows up on the KHSAA Site, so why hasn't it been posted by Cov. Cath.? -
The shortstop for Beechwood is Zach Larimore. This was a great game to watch.

Game 1: Beechwood 5 Whitefield Academy 0 Josh Bertke and AJ Smith combined for a no hitter. Josh pitched 5 innings facing only 17 batters, no walks and striking out 9. 2 batters reached on errors. AJ finished the last 2 innings striking out 3. Many of the Tigers had hits to score their 5 runs. Game 2: Beechwood 7 Whitefield Academy 0 Beechwood played Whitefield again on Friday, after a rain out on Friday one of the other teams had to leave. AJ Smith gets the win, with Nate Snyder providing the relief. They combined for only a 4 hitter. Beechwood offense led by Zach Larimore 2-3, Chas Hyde hit safely in his 4th straight game, Josh Bertke hit his second HR of the year. Game 3: Beechwood 3 Paintsville 4 Beechwood could only manage 3 runs on 5 hits and left 8 runners on base. Chas Hyde hit safely in his 5th straight game. Nate Snyder was 2-2 at the plate. Zach Larimore and Nate Snyder both pitched well, however Paintsville also hit the ball well. -

Josh Bertke gets his Second win (2-0) he throws 5 no hit innings, striking out 9. AJ Smith closes it out ( I guess his ankle is OK) I heard Chas Hyde was 3-4 at the plate, with a couple of stolen bases. -

Best Draining Fields in NKY
Norm Peterson replied to cooperstown's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Three games were played on the new field at Beechwood today. -
Did Conner pitch the whole game? How many pitches did he throw? Just courious with him just coming out of basketball season.
-
This is correct, Beechwood stoped running and only advanced 1 base at a time. I believe Coach Myerhoff showed complete respect to Coach Brown.

Congrats to Dayton, Coach Hamilton is a great baseball guy.

I don't think Leeke is a pitcher, but will probably start in Center Field.

Norm Peterson replied to CCH24's topic in KY Swimming, Track, Lacrosse, Golf (High School)
Parker Adams, Josh Bertke, and Drew Kinmon, are all playing great for Beechwood. -
How about AJ Smith from Beechwood.

Viewed the 16u roster on another thread. Wow 20 players. will there be enough playing time, especially for 3 catchers. Did they keep players just as pitchers only.

Kentucky Colonels Summer Baseball Season
Norm Peterson replied to Theoldguy's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
A select team means that exactly. The coach selects his players for whatever reason. Maybe some players are more coachable or have more heart or passion. Maybe they want to make them better for their high school program. Therefore the best players might not always be picked out of a tryout situation. -

That is the correct, it is a team formation. There are always numerous reasons why a team is started. -

Seems to me that would be a smart thing to do. Isn't that the high school coaches job is to ensure that his school program gets better.
