  1. I am going with our coach, Mike Salmons. Raceland is a small Independent school with no industry to support the tax base, 62% of households in the district are retired and or disabled and have had less than 5 D1 football athletes in the past 20 years yet we are consistently in the top 5 of 1A schools. Coach Salmons has 2 regional titles and a finals appearance in his 4 years as head coach. So, when speaking of getting the most out of your kids, Coach has to be considered in this topic.
  2. I am a former GC player and I am good friends with Coach Maynard and Coach Grizzle. It is hard to pick this one but I do think GC is better right now so I will go with the Musketeers. I do feel that because this is a rival game, Russell will play it closer than a lot of people think it will be.
  3. Raceland started fast and finished strong, beginning the JV season with a shutout of Lawrence Co. Congratulations, boys.
  4. It takes me 8-9 gallons of paint to paint our R on the field.
  5. Even though we do not have the seating capacity of Ashland, do you really think the entire Ashland crowd would travel to Raceland? We do not have the seating capacity of Russell but the gate is comparable to when we travel there. The crowd at Ashland is so good because our fans travel well. We typically have more fans at away games than the home team. As far as where the game is played, I think it is only fair that Raceland gets to host this game. I think we have earned it.
  6. Starting in 2019, it is the traditional 2 year home/away contract. 2019 will be at Putnam and 2020 will be at Raceland. It will be week 6 instead of week 1.
  7. If Friday proves me to be a bagger of sand, I'll have @Ram buy you your choice of fine concessions at your next visit to Ram Stadium.
  8. We have a pretty good size group of boys, but our fastest kid finished second to Pittman all year in track. So, if he gets in the clear, the cannon will fire and the scoreboard will add 6.
  9. Well, our backyard project is finished but thanks for the offer.
  10. I hope it's this close. I am hoping we avoid a running clock. Ashland is really talented and from what I've seen, favored to win their district and make a deep run into the playoffs.
  11. Ashland put 49 points on the board on 24 offensive plays against Harlan Co., this doesn't look good for my Rams.
  12. I am going with Collins in this one. I will always go with a Coach Lucas team.
  13. @Coupon21 wouldn't pick Raceland if we were playing ISIS!
  14. This is so appropriate in this game. In order for our defense to work, we have to play assignment defense. Read your key and "DO your job".
  15. He worked very hard this offseason to get stronger and healthy. He played all season last year with a torn labrum and a completely detached bicep tendon. He never said a word to me about it until midway through the playoffs last year. Tough kid.
  16. Dalton Adkins, Sr, from Raceland should be considered in this group. If he played anywhere else in the state, he would be getting more attention than he does here in Northeastern KY.
  17. I think Lewis County is much improved from last year but Greenup is way too talented and should win this one with a running clock.
