Raceland in a squeaker.

It was nice to hit someone else. Other than getting to play at game speed against an opponent, score doesn't matter.

The score of this one shocked me a little.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of the scrapping of the seeding idea. I'm glad it was scrapped.

I agree. I don't think either team should be disappointed with a loss in this one. Raceland is lucky to face a downhill running team the week before facing Lawrence Co.. It also will get the mind right, instead of playing a patsy and not really knowing what needs fixed before next week.

I know it's only the Grid but I am starving for some football. Any comments or thoughts on this match up?

The only 1A teams we (Raceland) play are our District and playoff games.

I love pre-season hype but that is all it is. Until the playoffs begin, these predictions mean very little. I am really interested in how the new seeding system for the State semis affects regular season play. Will teams run scores up trying to impress the powers that be or will the way a team is playing in the playoffs matter more? It's going to be interesting.

It went well. MTR was Saturday night this year. We scrimmaged each other for 2 qtrs. with officials working it as well. Lots of reps and no injuries. Looking forward to playing this week at Bath County with all our 1's together.

Oldrambler, you need to get healthy enough to make it to a Home game this year and check out the renovations. I would try and explain them but it's better just seeing them in person.

Please.....even though the injury you mention is horrific, 7 on 7 is not dangerous. Accidents and injuries happen in all sports and in all life activities. The point Avg Joe is just making a point by saying "7 0n 7'.

I will now attempt to explain my viewpoint(s) on this subject..... 1. Younger kids do not generally perform kick-offs successfully. This is my argument for keeping it, especially in frosh and JV games. If we are planning on keeping KO's at the varsity level and in college, the kickers need developed and that needs practice and skill. 2. I am a team doctor and have been for years. I have only had 1 injury on a KO in 20+ years and 0 concussions. I am all about safety but my numbers don't show me how doing away with KO's will make the game safer.

I am really excited to see how this team responds and plays after how last year's team played. So far, I am seeing good things.

Terrible ruling. Football as we know it is slowly dying. I do not think they'll ever completely kill it but it definitely resembles less and less of the game I played and have always loved. Safety is a great thing but as per usual in America, we take things way too far.

We have many upgrades this year and some more to follow. I'm sure you'll enjoy the visit. Make sure Ram knows you're coming so he can buy you some famous concessions.....

Looking forward to the team trip to the Reds game tomorrow. This will end 2 a days and lead into Team Camp, culminating with the Meet The Rams a week from tomorrow. Football is in full swing in Raceland.

You would be shocked at the different look from the field. Standing on the field, it has a more "open" feel. Just moving the bus garage and making the parking lot bigger and fixing the track makes the field seem larger. Mark it down, the field is still a hallowed spot and revered by the current Rams.
