Yes and I think I said it was a “proposed” idea as well. I honestly don’t see it happening in the final version. Just something to discuss in the off-season.

I agree. I’d love to play NewCath. I think you can look at who we play Year in and year out. Raceland will play quality teams. The Paintsville game is another 90 min from Raceland down US23. That is a little less appealing. Depending on how the home/away games fall on the schedule, we (Raceland) would travel 2 plus hours to NewCath and 1 1/2 hours to Paintsville. That sucks logistically for the most meaningful games you play in the regular season.

I agree. Annual travel costs plus attendance (Gate revenue) will be hurt. Plus, leaving school early and travel lag on the players. Just not a good idea. I realize, as I said in the thread title, this is just a proposal, but definitely not a good idea.

There has been a proposed District for NewCath in 2019. It would place them in a district with Raceland and Paintsville. I am not against good competition but year in and year out, these will be 3 of your best teams in 1A. I am not sure that this is good for the class as a whole and it is definitely not good to have this kind of travel for regular season games, especially since they would also be District games. Again, this is a bad idea. Jmo

I am totally against this seeding idea. There are too many travel issues that will make the #3 & #4 seeds even further at a disadvantage. Fans will not travel as far for some teams..... current Region alternation seems as fair as it can be.

Btw, Oldrambler, I haven’t been on here all season. Every time I started to renew, I thought of how well we were playing and didn’t want to jinx it. LOL I’m an old ball player and I live with superstition and lucky “things”. I just couldn’t take a chance and ruin our mojo. I’m glad to be back.

I just want to congratulate Beechwood on a great game and on winning their 13th title. I was there cheering you guys on in the early 90’s when Coach Roy Lucas II was an assistant under Coach Yeagle. Classy team and wonderful tradition. I hope to see our Rams develop that now that they have been there and got a taste of the sweet nectar of Title game football.

No. New track being installed. Field is being moved 12 yards West. New bleachers on the home side and new goal posts. Demolition of the old track has already happened.

Ashland doesn't appear to be as big as usual up front. Is this correct?

Not much being said about this game...

If we play like we did for the first 2 1/2 qtrs of the LC game for 4 qtrs at Ashland, I like our chances. The biggest obstacle we always have is the lack of depth that Ashland has over us. Doesn't mean they're in better condition, just their 2's and 3's are just as good as most of their 1's. We can't say that across the board.

OL was 2 Sophomores, 2 Juniors and a senior for much of the night. Tyus (senior) rotated in at LT as well.

We looked awesome in the first half, 4 scores on 5 drives. Second half started great but a huge penalty was called that negated a beautiful drive. Sideline Hudl is great but it can infuriate you when you can immediately see how horrible the call was and made by the wrong official. That momentum was what got Lawrence County back in the game. If we have that score, the game is over but.......

Just because FC didn't recover all of them doesn't mean we didn't put the ball on the ground. Our RB's fumbled 5 times. All I am getting at is we have to have ball security if we want to win.

6+ fumbles, blown assignments, gassed after 2 qtrs, missed tackles. But to answer your question, no. But I was there to witness it in person. We have talent but I haven't seen how this group handles 4 qtrs and the schedule we have. Time will tell.

We are inexperienced and I look for a long year. The Dawgs may win this one by 3+ TD's.
