After reading all my new friends from Raceland's quotes from game thread, I can see the Rams having a tough journey to Paintsville. Seems the loyal observers are concerned about undisciplined play, over criticalness of refs calls by players and staff, and a lack of focus on the things they can control....like execution....no holding....and false starts. Rams have a really good Pittsburg Steelers type team. If they get focused on their fundamentals and execution and not get caught up in losing cool when they disagree with flags, this could be a GREAT game, even a Classic. If Coach Salmons sets the wrong tone with refs early, this game could get really ugly, and I mean REALLY UGLY. Stay cool Rams and bring back that Championship.

Raceland continues to play undisciplined football and that's usually not a good thing this late in the season. Everyone likes a team that plays with a chip on their shoulder, but there's a very fine line between chippy and dirty, Raceland was close to crossing that line last night. The discipline of a team or lack thereof is an extension of the coaching staff.

The pass coverage continues to be a major concern, blown coverages are one thing, but being completely lost during a play is unacceptable.

The thing that drives me batty is the offense. The play calling continues to be predictable and when it's not predictable, they're usually trying to get cute.

Every year it's the same thing, all the blowhards on here and Rivals start beating the drums about how this is the team that will make it to the carpet and when you look at this roster one would believe that all of the pieces are in place.

So, does Raceland go to work this week, play disciplined, inspired football on Friday night and come away with the win? Or do they underachieve and spend another off season talking about what should've been?

I'll go with Paintsville. Raceland can win if they play a disciplined game. If they are anything like people were saying against Nicholas County last night, Paintsville will put it away with a quickness.

Expect Paintsville to put this one away convincingly! The TIGERS D was strong in their first matchup but it's at an entirely new level now! Throwing the ball has proven extremely difficult against Paintsville and That's the best option because running the ball on the Tigers is not gonna work plus with the amount of FIRE Paintsville is playing with right now, it's gonna make for a long night for Raceland! Seems the Rams have lost some motivation since their first matchup!

I said in another thread that if Raceland plays like they did last night we would get beat badly. Having said that I don't see that Paintsville has suddenly gotten so much better and we've gotten so much worse. In fact the argument could easily be made that since the first meeting we have done far more to be prepared for this matchup. We have played Russell who is better than anyone on Paintsville schedule, BB is better than any team Paintsville has played since our game and Nicholas who is admittedly better than I gave them credit for. Like I said in another thread Nicholas has the best o-line we've seen all year including Ashland, Russell and Paintsville. In that same time period Paintsville has played 3 gimme games where they have been in cruise control. I think it will be a whale of a matchup this week I don't know who will win but I think you are sorely mistaken if you think the Rams will just come in and roll over for Paintsville like their last 3 opponents have.

Oh maybe you misunderstood. In no way do I think Raceland will come in and roll over! They haven't done that for anyone all year! They will give Paintsville a hard fought physical game just won't be anything like the last one on the score board! Paintsville will control the tempo for the most part of the first half and then put some distance on the Rams in the 3rd!

Would love to see this game, but just too far for these old bones and eyes. Might be 1A game of year prior to Championship game in BG.

Well, I have the advantage of watching film and the chippyness that was expressed Friday night was something our boys were not used to; there were literal punches thrown on several occasions at our boys. No excuses, we should've been more calm not to respond but that is what happens.

I am looking forward to another great game. I do agree with Blue bird, Paintsville will try to come out and punch us in the mouth and win it with a TKO but I think our guys will respond. It should be an entertaining game.

Probably the best two teams in class A this year. This game should have been the state finals in Bowling Green. The team with the least amount of penalties and turnovers wins this one.Good luck to both teams and hopefully no injuries

For sure gonna be more exciting than the first two rounds. Raceland is gonna come out wanting it! Just have to see if their able to TAKE it from a Hungry Paintsville team!

Paintsville will have to be a bunch of tough cookies to punch the Rams in the mouth. Raceland is one of biggest and powerful 1A teams I have seen this year.

Kinda already punched em once!

Kinda already punched em once!

That act is tired. The way that one played out was hardly anything but a classic.
