Could a Mod add a poll to this one ? Thanks.

As always this should be a great game, as well as atmosphere. I'll hold off on my prediction for now, but I will say Ashland looked really solid last night, much better than they did at this point last season. Outside of the personal fouls, they have improved in every other aspect of the game. Brandt, Bryant and Pittman are some names you'll hear a lot of throughout this game that you didn't hear last year.

Brandt looks great at WR and if he catches the ball in open stride, there are very few players that are going to catch him. Pittman is a small RB but extremely fast, one of the fastest sophomores I've ever seen. He played second in the state last year in a track meet for all ages and also competes on the national level. Ryan Bryant was injured last season but is back as a stout 6'5 270lb DE/TE. He's really impressive on defense and seems to always be in on the action. I'd didn't see much out of him at TE last night but he wasn't really needed on offense either.

Ashland put 49 points on the board on 24 offensive plays against Harlan Co., this doesn't look good for my Rams.

I have to say, I respect the heck out of Raceland. I root for them any other week than this. With that being said, they will lose this one by 30+. I'm not sure anyone outside of JC can match up with Ashland's offensive weapons. If Brandt doesnt drop one, he has 4 catches for 4 TD's and over 250+ yards....in his FIRST game. He's like Cody Withrow, but faster. I would like to see Hester and Pittman get more carries this week. Dont forget that one of Ashland's best all around players Isaac Caines didnt play, not sure about his status this week. He wasn't wearing the brace on his hand during the game Friday night, which is a step in the right direction. He will solidify the secondary and add another legit weapon at WR. Skill positions with Hester, Pittman, Caines, Brandt, and Ratliff? My goodness. Lets not forget that Ashland's D forced 3 fumbles, and had two kickoffs go into the endzone. A HUGE advantage for a team if you can consistently do that. LB Braedon Ward was also impressive, seems like his name was called a lot. I know Raceland always has a good team, dont see them being able to hang for 4 quarters.

I hope it's this close. I am hoping we avoid a running clock. Ashland is really talented and from what I've seen, favored to win their district and make a deep run into the playoffs.

How big is the Raceland O/D lines? I looked back through the Independent preview and looks like yall have some big ol boys....

The Tomcats didn't have their hands on the ball much against Harlan County. But when they did, they were making big plays left and right. Raceland's not exactly slow on defense, but I think Ashland's speed will be too much to deal with for four quarters. All it takes is a broken tackle or one bad angle by the Rams defense or kick coverage units and Brandt, Hester, Pittman, or Ratliff are off to the races.

If Raceland wants to keep this interesting, they've got to keep the chains moving and control the clock with the run game. I envision a lot of squib kicks and punting the ball out of bounds from the Rams. What's Judd's status this week. Obviously, it would help a great deal to have him out there.

Doc, Johnson Central would like to have a word with you.

Well, our backyard project is finished but thanks for the offer. :)

We have a pretty good size group of boys, but our fastest kid finished second to Pittman all year in track. So, if he gets in the clear, the cannon will fire and the scoreboard will add 6.
