  1. Bell's field is not hard to find at all, the lights have the whole mountain lit up. But I advise you, be there early, parking will be a mess. I cannot wait for this one, Friday cant get here soon enough. Sounds to me as if we may be in for a defensive struggle, Bell is very stingy when it comes to points, seems as if Boyle is as well. Cannot wait to see this one
  2. No, I'm not looking for a fight at all, nor am I saying your disrespecting Bell Co. in any way, i just think its not a very good idea to say our passing game is pretty much non existant. I promise, you will see the run quite a bit, but if it comes dwon to forcing us to pass, I feel like we're much more dangerous through the air, and this team is more then capable to beat teams with the pass. and the stats look pretty good to me actually, prior to last night Zachery was 60-96 on the year with 1192 yards, 21 td's 1 pick. Very good looking stats to me. Pretty darn good for a team that cant win with the passing game. but at the same time, there is 2 backs that has rushed for over 500+ yards. All I'm saying, is dont take the passing attack lightly. I know more then likely it will be a grind it out kind of game, but if we're forced to do it through the air, we're capable. I meant no disrespect towards you.
  3. Apparently he's not seen the Bell Co. Passing attack in general. Have never seen a Bell Co. team line up in shotgun and actually move the ball down the field how this team does. I would nearly go as far as saying Matt Raines may be even, or nearly faster then Boyle's players, boy has serious speed, and is a pretty good lockdown corner and playmaker on defense also;). I'm predicting, theres going to be standing room only come Friday night, if that, this one is gonna be good. Boyle may have Bell outmatched, but Bell always steps it up on Log Mountain in these big time games, and IMO this is possibly the best Bell Co. team EVER. I've got faith in my Bobcats, cant wait 'till friday:fight:
  4. As to the Highlands issue, I do remember the statements of Bell not being able to make it past the 50, then Shawn Robbins in the first offensive drive of the game broke a 60+ yard TD run. By no means do we have a Shawn Robbins on this team, but our O-line are absolute monsters, only 1 of them under 6'2, but he's 300+ pounds, and this line can open up some huge holes, plus with 2-3 capable backs, Boyle may see the run quite a bit, but dont sleep on the Bell Co. passing game, theres some very good athletes on this Bell Co. team. Cant wait to see this match up!
  5. Very good game. The crowds for both sides was awesome tonight, the atmosphere was perfect. I'm hoping next weeks game will be this exciting, hopefully with Bell winning it as well. I dont think its a case of Bells D being not as good as advertised, KC just showed up ready to play and their playmakers simply made plays. Raines is a serious weapon, no idea why he hasnt been invovled in the offense up until playoffs, He's easily from my point of view the fastest and probably best pure athlete out on the field, his pick to pretty much seal it was HUGE. This game could be just what Bell Co. needs to get them over the hump and into the 'Ville this year, and also I'd like to congratulate KC on a VERY good and hard fought game. Glad to see the unsportsmanlike penatlies pretty much eliminated from both sides.
  6. Please dont tell me this feild condition junk is gonna start up:lol:. It's about time excuses are put to rest. Last time I checked, this is FOOTBALL, suck it up and deal. If teams are good, they'll win regardless the situation, IMO atleast. Without a doubt, this will be one of the most physical games of the playoffs. It doesnt matter what anyone says, both teams have quite a bit to lose, I mean afterall we are talking about the spot in a state semi-final game right, and the season for both teams, so we're gonna see the absolute best. The argument that Knox didnt get Bell at full strentgh and Bell didnt get the best of Knox in the first meeting has been made. So, in my view, a Bell team that was no where near on track or having the chemistry now beating KC 21-0, results wont be much different this time around. Bell by 30+.:thumb:
  7. The outcome will be much different this time around. At the beggining of the season, the Bobcats, IMO was struggling to find a leader of the team, and was just struggling getting used to new positions and new faces. This time around, IMO, Matt Simpson is the clear leader of this bobcat team, always makes the big play and gives this running attack a huge boost. Bobcats are firing on all cylinders in all aspects of the game, looked extremely impressive when the ball was in the air last night. Could be a long, long night for KC.
  8. I'm not sure about that '09 statement, Bell Co. is still a decently young team, only 13 seniors, and alot of young kids have been stepping up and getting early playing time against opposing varsity offense and defenses, plus theres a couple kids that have potential to be very special comming in next year. I'll take my bobcats in another route, 42-0, this team is firing on all cylinders right now.:fight:
  9. Very good showing from the Bobcats, the game got a little choppy with tempers at a few points but all in all, very good game and effort from both teams.
  10. The Bobcat D has pitched now 16 scoreless quarters now, alot of that comming from the JV and Freshman units. Have only given up 21 points throughout the entire year, and one of the scores was a fumble in the Bell endzone by the young Davenport late in a game. This Bell Co. team has alot of potential for the year, and years to come with some incredible talent moving up from the middle school level next year. I dont look for TC to be a challenge for this team, nor do i look for them to score. Also another little tidbit of info, I beleive its been 3-4 weeks since the Bell D has given up 100 rushing yards in a game.
  11. Personally, I dont think TC will put up a score. The Bell County defense is playing absolutely great right now, no one has scored on them in I beleive 4 weeks, maybe longer. It's getting real tough to move the ball against this team. I look for another blowout, 56-0.
  12. That's right, my bad. I completely forgot the other Davenport kid.
  13. Greer most likely wont play, heard its a pretty decent ankle sprain, and Davenport's arm injury I've heard is a horrible break, Ii think we'll be fine though. May see Zachery move over to corner and Madon get some time at safety. We'll be just fine at RB when Carton gets in a groove, the kid is a load to bring down.
  14. Bell County 8th grade is set to take on Wayne County tuesday, anyone close to the Wayne Co. program? how do they look? Bell Co. has a tremendous playmaker, #5, Polly, who IMHO is the backbone of that team, would love to see him get a few more touches, extremely dangerous. #2 Collett is also pretty quick, has some good vision.
  15. May be a little early to start this one, but just giving a heads up and imprtant note, the game has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 30 instead of the original scheduled halloween date. Now, onto predictions, and thoughts for this one?
  16. First two plays of the game were both deepballs to senior Chase Ely, came down with both of them, the second going for 6, actually put it in the air alot tonight, for a Bell Co. team, and surprisingly even in the rain the air attack looked impressive:ylsuper:. As always, the running game was top-notch, another big win, cant wait to see how we look these last two weeks of the regular season:D
  17. Also, just figured I'd throw this out, The Bell D is giving up an average of 3 points per game..talk about a stingy defense:lol:
  18. I really dont care either way if these two play or not, it would be a fun one to watch, all of the Bell-Corbin games I've saw has been very hard fought and fun games to watch. I really do hate the fact that people continue to throw up the 4a-2a argument though. It isnt as if we're constantly switching players in and out, the majority of the Bell Co. starters go both ways as it is. I read the numbers posted earlier from the 06-07 year, with Bell's enrollment at 840, out of that there is 52 players on the bobcat team according to the pre-season roster. Only half of that, if half, even dresses out for varsity games, so why is the class difference even being brought up?
  19. HC in a close one. Well, if they can get an answer for Adams that is.
  20. Sounds like it's gonna be a good thing to see...hopefully the Bell Co. middle team can bring a state title back to the mountins..even if it is a bit smaller:sssh: How's other teams looking around the state? The bobcats have a serious weapon in all aspects of the game in 8th grader Jonathan Polly, the kid is incredible to watch, has 16 TD's on the year, and i beleive is leading the team in INT's, tackles and I'm thinking rushing yards as well.
  21. The thing with the Bell 7th grade team was a sad case to see, but Greene did show up at the 8th grade game and apologize to parents, coaches and teams. Also, I'm not sure about the age of the QB, i dont think he's 16..but there has been some kids with questionable ages comming up out of the program, (one kid from the bell middle team was driving the end of his freshman year.) but I've heard that there is actually going to be a middle school state championship game this year? any truth to this? (i dont follow middle school ball much)
  22. Bell Co's young kids were in very early. some of our key defenders was in after half, mostly due to the off week, cant understand the reasoning behind Greer being in midway through the 3rd though. But, don't be fooled, it wasn't as if we were trying to run the score up, opening kick was returned for 6, they were in bad field position throughout the first quarter (two int's, bad punts). Bell Co. Sophomore linebacker Josh Brown had a very nice INT returned for a TD in the second quarter I believe. (not a starter, but looks like he's gonna be a good one)
  23. Not saying Tates Creek is the best in the state, but remember, they gave Bell Co. the toughest test all year last year besides Lex. Cath, after the game Dudley stated he knew it would be a fight comming in and thats what it was, Actually was a close one until the end, but losing Nelson before half also hurt a bit last year so, take that for what its worth. I'd love to see Bell-Belfry also, and really hope the deal with HCHS works out.
  24. No team is near as strong as Lex. Cath last year? need I remind you, Bell Co. played Lex. Cath VERY well last year, and was the toughes test for them in the playoffs. Nearly everyone ive heard from agrees the score at the end didnt reflect how close it actually was. Just one or two less mistakes by Bell Co. or heck, capitalizing on one or two Catholic mistakes that one could have turned out completely different, and only losing 6 seniors, I think you could consider Bell Co. to be "close", especially now that the offense has began to click with Zachery under center.
  25. Very impressed with Carton, he's beginning to look like what everyone thought he would be, I'd love to see him have a few more carries to take the load off of a Greer a bit more. If Carton can keep this play up consistently, imagine that rushing attack with him and Greer both:eek:. Also Matt Raines really impressed me, I've said on several occasions that I believe he's the best pure athlete on the team, two picks, two td's(receiving, int return) he's looking very solid. Looks like this bobcats team is finally starting to click with two consecutive smothering defensive efforts and an impressive offensive attack, lets hope they keep this kind of play up:ylsuper:
