This is about football. Did you play or coach at any level?

Some of the things that are said and done on the practice and game fields don't need to be heard or seen by women. You guys that have played and coached know what I'm talking about. Some of these things would embarass Courtney Love. I believe a lot (Not All) of these things are an important part of becoming a team and working together. I don't intend to dis-credit women in any way. To the contrary, I would be embarrassed for most women to witness some of these things that are said and done. My wife constantly amazes me how well she knows the game and my mother loved the game and knew it very well. I have no doubts that women could learn the X's & O's as well as men, but, I believe football coaches (at all levels) should be male.

If the transfer was for football reasons (and seems it was), I'll never understand taking the risk of all of this. Seems the young man is a high profile player, I'm sure he would have been noticed at the next level. As long as you're lacing them up on Friday night, It should not matter what color the jersey is. JMHO

The dream for the kid would be to have an opportunity to play football at any level and return to his hometown HS to teach & coach football. Unfortunately, there may not be any opportunities. The schools are not beating our door down. His HS is not a great recruiting hub. Never has been and never will be. We discuss his options daily. All he talks about is football (I don't know where he gets that:D). I believe he could play at the next level and most importantly, he believes it. He may end up in a walk on situation, which could be best for him because he would have to concentrate more on a school's academic opportunities and not only a football offer.

All of this information is great to have considering the situation with my son. Thanks guys! Keep it coming.

I believe I know that fellow. Played at Harlan Independent. Not sure why it has Harlan County on there, not a problem with me though.

Nice post Voice, BUT, I have to remain on the "Hazard #2" bandwagon. Primarily because of the spanking they laid on my Harlan team (Don't remember the score :cry:) prior to playing LCA. Before anyone says Harlan is not the same caliber, I agree. Those top 3 to 5 teams in 1A are in a class by themselves. I can't speak intelligently about Mayfield, but I can about Hazard. They are very physical and well balanced. We had a 2,000 (+/-) yard tailback that did not have 50 yards vs the Hazard D and he ran behind a very good offensive line. Also, holding one the state's best (Hayden) to 177 yds on 27 carries is not bad. LCA may have put up points late on Mayfield which could have been a depth issue. I believe Hazard's close game with LCA was due to their strength, athleticizm and depth. Very winable game for Hazard until the very end. Just my 2 coins worth....

So, all of the potential players would have been contacted by now??? Thanks C25.

I believe Harlan belongs in that 8,9, or 10 spot Ram. But not sure who to bump out.....
