Sounds like he took the easy way out. Let his teammates down. Let them take the beating while he went and did his own thing. Selfish decision. Ultimate goal of every season is the tournament and then you don't show up. I am sure there will be other "combines". I can not imagine too many coaches and teammates would welcome with back with open arms. Maybe his decision is a product of today's "me first" society. Sad.
You are correct, they have not been the outright favorite. Just seem to always be labeled as a team with a chance to win region but they never do. Seem to come up short in the region. I guess I exaggerated with the whole "favorite" thing.
I would vote for Hawkins, and hope he wins. Is this the first time two players from the same school have been finalists for the award? Wouldn't that make you an overwhelming favorite for the state title?
Pendleton County has some great assistant coaches. Would hate to see them leave. But I was shocked Cravens was hired in first place. Heard him and superintendent are big buddies.
