Henry Clay (23-9) will take on Madison Central (26-5) in the semi's of the 11th region. Your thoughts and predictions.

I have not seen either play, but I'm wondering other than the obvious (they have to score more points) what Henry Clay has to do to beat Madison Central?

First of all, let me say, I think Madison Central wins by 7. But, to answer your question, I think:

1. Darien Tichenor must neutralize Quan Taylor in the middle and at least match his output, particularly on the glass. Plus, he must be a factor changing shots on the inside.

2. Jordan Green and Trey Grundy must play like they did in the second half last night against Dunbar. First half, 0 offensive rebounds and took a lot of questionable shots. They were both much better in the second half. At one point, the 2 had 37 of HC's 44 points.

3. Christen Cunningham ankle needs to keep improving and allow him to make some shots he missed last night against Dunbar. I understand he is fine going straight ahead and jumping, but the lateral movement is a little less. Each day, I would think that would improve. He needs to give them a 3rd scorer.

4. Don't allow Ken-Jah Bosley and Dominique Hawkins to get easy looks. They are going to score and probably combine for 40+, but you have to make them work and take a lot of shots to get there.

I think Henry Clay has struggled with teams with some quickness, and MC has plenty. Two teams meeting in the semi-finals of the region, both of which are fully capable of winning state, dont get much better than this boys and girls.

This game will depend on which Henry Clay team shows up.

Madison Central 62-54.

Henry Clay that played the first part of the season and last night will at least keep it respectable. The Henry Clay of late jan and feb. will get blown out.

Agree. Two totally different teams it seems.

Believe that HC is on the right path for the post season. Should be a great game.

This one should be a battle. Both teams are exciting to watch and I'll be making the trip for this game.

I'll take Madison Central by 8

MC has (3) really good SENIORS, that will be the difference.

I agree with nikeman49 about Henry Clay. Clay's season is over.
