The Offense Of The Future?
If you watch the video, they cant run the ball. Like someone stated earlier in the thread, a speedy defense who handles their individual responibilities, could handle this particular offense. I like the thought but at some point you will need to be able to run the ball.

The football previews have been released!

Dale: Does He Win Against Better Teams?
All I can say is WOW..... I understand individuals will ALWAYS have things to complain about but is this conversation (thread) really happening? HHS is a Ky powerhouse year in and year out.....6 TITLES. Dale needs and should be appreciated by all because IT COULD BE WORSE. Im not a big HHS fan but I know great coaching and can appreciate what Dale has done with this program.....

Predict which 5A team BGP will rank preseason no. 1!!!
As much as I would like to agree, I have to throw my Purples @ #2. But Im hoping CCH is there for my own selfish reasons....

The size of players these days is amazing
I agree with Ram, you can be a 6'5 lineman around 300 lbs, and can still look athletic. I have been at all 3 levels and this size is the norm, especially at the college and NFL level. Since pee wee football has begun, if you havent already, go to a pee wee football practice and tell me what you see. Even the 9 and 10 year olds look bigger now a days. Im not talking fat but stocky and thick looking.

Predict which 5A team BGP will rank preseason no. 1!!!
As much as it pains me, I would have to agree with DMZ. Undefeated and state champs, and from what I here (not through BGP), reloading of talent. It seems pretty difficult for them not to be rank #1.

A change from Districts to Conferences?
I can only assume your already a follower of high football and this structure may be entertaining for individuals like ourselves on BGP, but ultimately its about the young men on the field. If this system would be structured anything like college football, I do not see how it would benefit our young men. We already know it doesnt benefit at the college level. Im a firm believer its the defensive job to get off the field, if they cant stop a team from scoring dont complain. But I also believe, an opponent should not run up the score just because they may drop in the rankings if they did not score 50+. Just my opinion and certainly we can agree to disagree.

Bring on the BGP Class 5A Preview!!!!!!
CLASSIC....No but really, where is it :fight:

A change from Districts to Conferences?
EXACTLY....We would have the same issues regarding the college level, at the high school. We already have issues regarding private vs public, what happens the first time someone runs up the score because they need points within this points system. No thanks!!

Favorite games
1991 Bowling Green Purples vs Paducah Tillman, BGHS won. Only to get beat by Meade Co. in Semi-state.

Is Beechwood Practicing?
Great infor....but everyone has to keep in mind, this is a business and coaches lives depend on getting great players on their universities. Im not saying its right but coaches want commitments early now a days. Its true, if your a game changer you have options to play the waiting game but in most cases, the schools can find a player just as good. I know for a fact schools have a "war room" and when a player commits to a school, they go to their next option.

In 6A can Lexington compete with Louisville?
If they are playing T why would they need to play anyone else? To be the best you have to beat the best..... We can speculate all we like but the schools are going to play, who they play. The only people it makes a difference to is individual on BGP.

When will Louisville 6A compete with the big 3?
MBL I understand where your coming from but I disagree. If I had to choose, I would pick a school where my son had a chance to play and be successful. If my son was a stand out in other sports I would hope the coaches would understand and he would still be able to compete for a position in the fall. Public vs Private, you can saw what you want about disclipine, better education, funding.....what happen to students wanting to better themselves? No matter where you get your education from its up to the student to do the best he can to recieve a good education. By the way, its the coaches job to get tape and things out for his players to be considered at the college level.

In 6A can Lexington compete with Louisville?
Stick1 and Jim Seyour #85 I completely understand and agree with both your points. I have been fortunate enough to coach in both the public and private school systems. What I would like to add, I do not believe it's a public vs. private or even a black vs. white thing. The young men and students today are a lot different than in the past. In some cases, our kids expect a lot in return without paying the price. When you have a winning tradition at any school it's a lot easier for student-athletes to buy into your system and winning all the needed support will come. I strongly believe the Lexington/Louisville issue wouldnt be up for discussion if Lexington schools had a consist winner year in and year out, it just hasnt happen. The lack of support from parents has always been there and will always be an issue but ultimately it's up to the student-athlete to decide he want to better himself through school and sports. JMO

Well thats pretty hard to dispute....

Shamrocks/Bluebirds 7 on 7
Well said!! Coaches have to mix and match players to get younger players the opportunity to compete, gain game experience, and evaluate what they need to work on. I wasnt at the scrimmage but I am sure it was very competitive and both sides gain a lot of insight to what they need to work on.
-
Shamrocks/Bluebirds 7 on 7
No, you run your offense and the defense adjust according to their scheme they run.

2008 Highlands
Does any know the dates and times of the 7 on 7 scrimmages?

2008 Covington Catholic
I believe the most important thing CCH needs to establish and develop is the o-line and d-line. Games are won in the trenches and truly for any team to be success they have to be decent up front, especially in the district they play in. Just my opinion...

CovCath is taking their football program to the next level...
DD, your exactly right because coaches have to adjust to the athletes they have but I promise HHS has a core system (offensive and defensive) they run and adjust from there. All I was saying is the kids at the junior high level would be running the same type of system as the varsity.

CovCath is taking their football program to the next level...
Keep in mind, a lot of the students who go to private schools had a parent, grandparent, great grandparent go to that school. Obiliviously, I cant say it for all students but in most cases this is why they end up there. I do not think this program will effect the pee-wee leagues much.....

EXCELLENT!!!! Now I know why HHS is the best school in NKY right now. Im not bias to CCH or HHS, I want this match up to be like a X and T year in and year out.
