  1. KC is pretty good. I picked Hazard, but am not surprised by the outcome
  2. wow, was this an OT game???
  3. As disappointing as this loss may be to most, I think it is going to be very healthy in the long run. This is a great tool for coach Humphrey and his staff. The GRC players were embarrassed in the 2nd half of this game, they know that feeling and the feeling is a great motivator. It does not help with the sting of this game, but in the long run, this will pay huge dividends for this young team. They have a couple of tournaments coming up that will help them regroup, but I look for a totally different team when they play Scott in early January.
  4. I think Mason has found themselves early in the season. I believe Downing can match-up well with Donovan inside and equal out his size. I'll take Mason County by 10.
  5. The Clarkson kid is a nice player, but he has a lot to improve upon in prder to be a HS hitter. I would take the experience of select ball that Elliott brings over him at this stage. The younger Freidel is a better all around athlete and has more of an upside IMO. In either case, Ryle should have a pretty solid squad for a few years to come.
  6. Carroll girls will ensure a split by winning 56-47
  7. Never an easy game in the fieldhouse for any opponent. I'l take CCHS by 4
  8. So a BS/Holmes rematch is not necesarily a given.
  9. Raceland in a tight game by 3
  10. He reminds me of Preston Knowles. I think with his atleticism and ability to shoot, he is a prospect.
  11. CCHS has had a pretty light schedule thus far, but they have two of the better players in the 10th with Nerl and Albrect. I can't put the Camels with the top five teams because of their lack of PG. The Camels have dominated their three opponents thus far, but the PG has yet to be pressed. They will struggle to find a back up PG with ball handling skills. Nerl is one of the best shooters in the state, but if he is relied upon to bring the ball up the floor, they will be in trouble.
  12. No, Dayton does not have a frosh team this year. Their Freshman and I know of one 8th grader, play JV and Varsity
  13. I don't remember Clarkson playing JV. Freidel was the the JV SS. I saw Ryle Frosh and JV play a few times last year, and each game Clarkson was at SS and Freidel playing SS on JV. Clarkson is a solid player, but struggles at the plate. Difference between he and Elliott offensively is power. I beleive Elliott can hit HS pitching better at this stage. There were many solid 8th graders on the Ryle Frosh last year. I'd say the younger Freidel brother is right there with both of the above kids as well (I know the older Freidel player is on the Colonels, but didn't the younger brother make the team as well?).
  14. ^ excellent point. Great way to play a Louisville caliber team without giving up an in-state game on your record
