  1. I agree that there is a lack of respect shown by parents and players. However, this problem is not limited to Cov Cath. I see it at every game I'm at, and at all levels. If you want to see players' attitudes change, first change the parents.
  2. Hate to see a player leave in mid season... You don't have to be happy with how it goes, but most deficately should stick it out... I don't know the situation, but I'll tell you my rule (as it applies to my kids): If you start it you finish it. It's not about the coach or yourself, it's about the 15 other players you let down. This is the fourth instance (at three different schools) over the last two seasons. Obviously there is a problem, but I think it goes deeper than the program... I'd look at the parents....
  3. Highlands was there last year and the year before ... I have any information about who, except boone will be there this year...
  4. Holy Cross opens the Xmas Tourney on the 26th 4 games starting at 10am. No idea bout the teams or order... Boone may play the 10am game.
  5. Not too suprized bythis one ...
  6. Is this an indicator that the Indian Ladies are turning the corner??? Sound like they played well.
  7. Big win -- I'll admit I called it the other way
  8. Where was this play v CAL??? Got to get up for each game like it was the big one ...
  9. Don't be surprised by the score. If Dixie's staff can't brong them together as a team, they don't stand to win many, escpecially if it's close down the stretch.
  10. I hear the sarcastic tone in your voice and have heard it in the stands as well. It stands to see what actions Dixie Athletics will take as a response to the turmoil.
  11. Not another highlight for the Stamm reel!!!
  12. It was the refs that made the game sloppy? Or was it the refs that identified the sloppy play and whistled fouls? Sounds like you'd rather have an MMA ref than a basketball. As far as the status of the game, I'd ask more of the coaches to teach defense. Solid defense will prevent 80% of the fouls you don't like.
  13. Wow, what a rivalry of sportsmanship... Fellas I have to say that from what I read here (I was not there) I gather the following --a cheap shot (or shots) was thrown at the end of the JV game. 3 --We never heard if a foul was called or technical assessed to the Bellevue player. This information may be valuable. --We all know what rivalry can do to a game, reference Holy Cross and Holes at Campbell County in '91. Coaches have to prepare their teams for that kind of emotion. (BTW I am in no way blaming the coaches for the players actions, just suggesting that preventative maintenance is a good thing. -- The "sportsmanship" and class that the two sides have shown here is amazing. It does not justify, but explains why these kids are acting the way they do. I've seen this rivalry for the last fifteen years and it is one of the great matchups in the state. But if you continue to instill this attitude in the kids, it will not get any better. :ohbrother:
  14. Not too surprized to see Holmes win. The score was wider thatn I'd've thought.
  15. Haven't seen Brossart yet, but did see CC. Brossart by unknown amount
  16. I don't disagree with any of your points. I firmly beleive that MS need to play at MS, with the rarest of exceptions. There was a thread about this time last year that covered all this. However, I also think that once you get to a Varsity level, no matter what the age of the kids on the team, you have to treat it like a Varsity practise. Any coach that repeatedly loses experience because of offcourt (non game-day) situations needs to be put under the magnifying glass. Easy for me to say though, I'm not coaching.
  17. Hard to see Boone still in the mix. Haven't looked good lately.
  18. Not sure why there was even a question on this one. Seems pretty cut and dried to me.
  19. I thought NCC would pull it out -- OT surprised me ...
  20. Unexpected, but a good win.. This may be the kick they need to get the ball rolling.
  21. I think what COLONEL is saying is that the coach, a former middle school coach, is running his Varsity program the same way he ran Turkeyfoot (I think). I'd tend to agree. Over the last year and a half, I've seen nothing from Coach that makes me think that Dixie will have even a remote chance at doing anything in the post season. Practices appear chaotic and unstructured. Games appear severely under coached... One man's opinion.
