  1. I'll be the first to admit, I didn't give the Colonels a chance tonight. i knew David Simmons was good but my lord, and its just not him Crowley, Norman and Washington are really good players. Cant wait for the showdown against Hoptown. Great win by Coach Smithhart and the gang.
  2. Final from Owensboro Invitational per Henderson Gleaner sports writer Kevin Patton.
  3. from the Owensboro Invitational per Henderson Sports Gleaner writer Kevin Patton.
  4. Final from Colonel Gym. Alisha Owens with 26 points for Henderson County. Lindsey Duvall had 28 points and 15 rebounds for Bullitt East.
  5. I saw where the Colonels and Dragons will be playing again in the Owensboro Invitational.
  6. Yes they were at full strength. Great student section as well.
  7. David Simmons led the Colonels with 25 points. Henderson County moves to 2-1 while the Purples fall for the first time this season (1-1). The Colonels travel to Shelby County tomorrow to play in the Rockets Legends Classic against Collins tomorrow at 5:00
  8. Was Graves missing some kids due to football players? Just wondering. Henderson is going to be good. Hopefully they can end the 8th district's run in the 2nd region.
  9. Is it going to be worth the 5 hour drive to Belfry for their game against Lawrence County? Ive never been to Belfry and I have started a bucket list of Kentucky high school football stadiums. I would hate to drive that far for a blow out.
  10. Is this game on the radio or a webcast? Was hoping to make the trip up from Henderson but I'm not going to be able to make it.
  11. Yes. There are bleachers on both sides.
  12. North lost badly to a so so Terre Haute South Team last week. I believe Coach Lewis and Coach Morris get the offense going and Coach Boston keeps the Defense solid and the Colonels win big.
  13. I also agree that the Carter kid needs to either play running back or don't play offense at all. Several of his passes were way off target and cost him and couple times as they were picked off. Not knocking the kid but his best position is linebacker.
  14. Woodsrider hit the nail on the head. It starts in the youth and even the middle school programs. I know a school in the Indiana where the head coach is the youth league director and varsity assistants look over the middle school programs. Every youth league and both middle school teams run the same offense and same defense as the high school team. They even have clinics for the youth league and middle school coaches and teach them what they want out of each level. This program has won state championships and is constantly in the hunt for more. If Henderson County did this they would beat up there with the Trinity's, St X's and Male's of the world. As far as Coach Duffy, I played for him and I don't think he wanted small numbers, kids were just to lazy and didn't want to put in the work and quit. His practices were very demanding but it made us better in the long run.
  15. Great article Coach. I played for Coach Duffy and I am now a coach and talk to him often. I couldn't ask for a better mentor.
  16. Yes Simmons fouled out at around the 3:30 mark with Henderson down 2. Hoptown pulled away after that. Kaleb Duckworth left the game late in the first half. I don't know what was wrong but it looked like he was coughing up blood
  17. Score is nowhere as close as the game was. Henderson's best player fouled out with around 5:00 minutes to go and down 2. Another starter left the game with an injury. I know he was coughing up blood but don't know the extent of the injury was. Hope the kid is ok. Hoptown is as good as advertised and fun to watch.
  18. Male wins big. Floyd Central is in our conference and they are still a young team. They do have a good running back but Male's athletes are just to much for the Highlanders this year.
  19. Write up on the scrimmage from the Henderson Gleaner Defense dominates Colonels-Aces scrimmage » Evansville Courier & Press
  20. Where did Doug play college ball? I was thinking Marshall but I'm not 100 percent sure. That team was fun to watch.
