Close game. Any details on this one. Where was it played. Has calvary lost a conference game to anyone besides Beechwood?

They have not lost this year and all of last. It was a good game. Beechwood was up 10 at the half, and the same at the end of the third. Villa pulled to within 4 with about 5 to 6 minutes to go. Both teams were in serious foul trouble. Bryan fouled out with close to 4 minutes to go, he ended up with 15. Romes also fouled out, he had 4 points, but had to sit the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth. Beuttel had at least 20, including a bunch of made free throws in the fourth (I don't think he missed all night). Schuh had close to 20 (not positive). Snyder had a big game for Beechwood, I believe a double-double. It was a great atmosphere for a high school game, not something you see every day at Villa. I agree, the refs were very inconsistant, for both sides, and there were three of them. One of the Beechwood fans even got ejected during the game. It was physical, scrappy, and overall very entertaining. Congrats to Beechwood on another win (getting close to twenty now). Congrats to Villa for playing with a top 9th region team for so long. Most thought it would be a complete blow out, but Villa stayed strong for a long time. It appeared that at the end of the game, the coaches and players form both sides were plaesed, and a bit of mutual respect was gained. Good luck to both teams in districts!!!

District 34 Tourney will be at Villa Madonna: #1 Seed : St. Henry #2 Seed : Lloyd Memorial #3 Seed : Dixie Hieghts #4 Seed : Villa Madonna #5 Seed : Ludlow Villa and Ludlow will play each other for the chance to play St. Henry. Lloyd will play Dixie. This district used to be a blind draw, but since St. Henry moved in, it is now seeded. St. Henry went undefeated durring the regular season in this district. Is St. Henry the heavy favorite? Can Dixie take it from them? Will Dixie get past Lloyd this time? Is Lloyd a sleeper? Ludlow? Can Villa get past Ludlow and play St. Henry close again? Any chance at upsets, or pretty straight foward?

Yea, Beechwood will win every game in its conference this year. Ludlow is down. +25 sounds good to me too.

I like "Grove". They should change the name of the city. Ill take Calvary big in this one.

This whole thing is crazy. Why do some people continue to use this site to bash kids who are just out playing the game. Many of you make this a little too personal. I've seen Bryan play, and yes, he has an attitude out there, wouldn't you. Every night out he gets double teamed and pushed all around. What do you want him to do, just sit back and take it. Villa is a tiny school and takes any player that wants to come out and be on the team. Bryan has talent, and is one of the only ones on that team with a little strength to him. If he backs down or doenst play physical, no one will. Other teams have to worry about something when they play Villa and Bryan is that something. If he played for Cov Cath or Boone County, no one would say a word about the way he plays. It's just because he is the focus of everyone in the gym that gets him all this attention. I felt bad for him the times I have seen him. At that program, he doesn't have the opportunity of playing the game like other players at other schools do. He has to work twice as hard for his team to have a chance. Now I don't know what he is like on a personal level. Maybe he is a punk, maybe he is a nice kid. But at the end of the day, he is a junior in high school, playing basketball and trying to help out a not so elite program. He works extremely hard trying to help his team win. It's not his fault he is under a microscope every night.

St. Henry should win this one, but the Lloyd team isn't that bad. I'll say St. Henry wins it in a lower scoring game 52-41.

Beechwood wins by a bunch. They are too deep and big for Villa to handle. I'll say 88 to 60.

He is very good. Villa started 3 juniors, and 2 sophs last night. They are a young team, and have some big holes. They had 7 seniors that they lost off of that team last year. He started then, and still put up over 20 a game with much more talent around him. It just is what it is, he is good, his supporting cast is a little weaker this year. Its the life cycle of a small school. Seems to me, they can be pretty good next year. Bryan is asked to do a ton this year. It does look like he forces a ton, but I think that is the best option to keep them in the games. A bad shot from Bryan is still a shot that they get off. And yes, I think he would start for anyone on in the region and be very good at it. He is not the best guard in the state, maybe-maybe not in the region, but the kid can play. Lets not get too down on him cause he trys to do what he can to help a small school.

Villa won by three, not sure on the score, 78-75....maybe (if not that, close to it). Bryan had 48.

Back to the game for a second.... this is a pretty big blow out. Just by going off of scores, does Villa have a chance to beat Dixie on Friday? I know it's probably a long shot, but it looks like on KHSAA that Villa only lost to St. Hank by 8. That game is at Villa. Could it be possible? Will Lloyd get the two seed in the district? When St. Herny moved in, you just assume that them and Dixie will be one and two every year. This could get interesting.

I really don't want to disappoint people, but I saw almost every game today, and this one tomorrow will not even be close. I thought Villa was going to beat Oldham. Holmes is just way too much for anyone else besides Seneca. And,....Seneca should not be over looked later in the season, they are for real.

Villa was up six at the half. It was a close game through out. Both teams will get killed in the second round.

Beechwood doesn't play Lloyd.

Ever wonder if Beechwood should try to move out of DIII....They win 95% of the games and rightfully so. They just always have more talent than every other school in that division. It is always fun to win, but do you think they get bored with some of the competition. I can understand it if it was a one time through type of deal, but in DIII, you have to play everyone home and away. That is 14 games a year. It is great for all the other small schools who really don't have anyone else around here to play competitively, but Beechwood is mostly heads and shoulders above these teams. Yea, I know some of them are close games, but you have to consider that these other schools really get up for the "Beechwood Game" cause they know that they are always the favorite. I know that some years other schools compete for the DIII title (don't rip me for that), but traditionally Beechwood is just a better program with more athletes to choose from. I'm just saying that I bet their coach feels like playing DIII schools twice a year is a bit of a waste. Who determines that they play twice a year? Do coaches get to vote on that? Is there a DIII committee? DI and DII only play once...correct? Not sure... just a thought. Opinions???
