22 point loss to St. Henry can't be good for the Colonels. I was very unimpressed with the Crusaders when I saw them against Oak Hills.

 

Anyone know how Pike or Hatton did for Dixie?

Dixie seems to be getting smoked every night out. Is Dixie really this bad?

From what I've seen, this was St. Henry's best game. Not sure if it was the excitement of the "new rivalry", the big crowd, being back at home, or if they are just starting to play better but this was a very good win. I know they probably were supposed to win by more than 10-15 but everytime Dixie made a run, St. Henry countered it. They played well on the boards and shot much better. Good games by Speed, Zumdick, Anderson, Eisenmenger, Bessler, and Dault. Overal team effort was very good. Swikert's agressive defense and hustle fueled the fire.

 

As for Dixie. Pike is going to be a good one. He looked good facing the basket and looked strong in the post. He's got a lot of work to do to be a Zach Keirnan type player, but he reminds me of Zach when he was young. As for Hatton, I've coached 7th grade for 5 years. I've seen a lot of kids this age. Can someone verify if this kid has been held back or is he older? He doesn't look like a 7th grader. His body is well developed. He just looks older. He struggled at times against pressure, but did have his moments. He'll struggle for a little while, but this kid will be a nice player in the next few years. DIXIE and Chevy have a nice future ahead of them.

Dixie is playing a lot of young players and they are going to struggle this season especially if Trammel gets into any type of foul trouble.

Brandon wears a size 14 shoe, his dad is 6' and played baseball at Wright St. and his mom's brother is 6'6. I think he will grow more but I don't know what sport he is best at and that's scarry. He will make Dixie better as a QB in football and a pitcher and cleanup hitter when he hits high school. Great kid overall!

Is Hatton playing Freshman, JV and varsity along with AAU and school teams? How does it work with him playing right now? Also, if he's a 7th grader can he switch schools going into Freshman year and not lose elibilty. I would think he could.

It doesn't matter if he play's varsity for Dixie as a 7th grader, he can go to any high school he choses because KHSAA rules don't apply until a kid is in the 9th grade.

Trammel had 2 fouls on him with approx. 3 minutes left in the half. Right now from a spectators view, the coaching staff may want to reevaluate the plays being run. Dixie didn't seem real diverse on plays. I've seen Trammel & Pike play and I know they have alot more to offer on the floor though it doesn't seem as though many (if any) plays are run through them. Again in my opinion Dixie should play more aggresively on the ball. This is all a spectator's opinion. I'm sure the coach knows his team better than I do.

IMO, from the few times I've seen him, he reminds me a lot of Mike Hester at that age.
