For Adair County Darren Ballou will be one of the best players in the tournment and has signed to play at Morehead St. But also watch the point guard Nick Fudge, coach's son.

Thats a good question, I havent seen Polson play, but was very impressed with Aaron Watts, I think next year he is the best shooter in the state for sure! But can anyone tell me about Polson?

How tall is Polson? Could he be the best player in the junior class?

It is hard to say on this game, such a contrast of styles. Defense usually wins out.

It would be very hard to rank them. Alot of balance in this tournment, very wide open! The 1st rd matchups are great, they are so evenly matched! It is going to be a great tournment! I think the Favorites are Eastern, Elliott Co, Homles, Corbin, Lex Cath, and Shelby Valley, not necessarily in that order.

Congrads to Cov-Holmes on beating a very good Boone County team. The object of the game is out scoring your opponent, every single time you outscore the other team you win! There is NOT a limit on how many points you have to score to win.

It was for me, I've got at least two games wrong in my bracket so far.

In the 5th region tournment everybody is getting into it not just the student body. I think alot of it has to do with the smaller county schools and towns and the dry counties around here, there just isn't as much to do around here, so high school basketball is more popular. Just having a chance to win the region is a big deal, where as perhaps your bigger school dont start getting excited unless they think they have a chance to win the sweet16. The pic of Dixie fans is that a small school?

Well I would rather the people in front of me not stand so I can stay seated, unless it is a big play.

Let me ask you a question here about the 9th region. I notice in the pics that the crowd is not excited, does this have anything to do with the location of the tournment? I have been going to the 5th region tournment. Adair County is my school and we bring a big crowd, but the gym (Marion Co) I am quessing will hold about 3000-3500 people, so it is much easier to fill up then BOK, but the crowd in the 5th region tournment is cheering, clapping, standing up, almost every good play. Looking at the pics it doesn't look like it is that way in this 9th tournment?

Russell Co win over Warren Central is diffinately the biggest upset so far this year. 2nd half of the year RC lost to some teams with lossing records.

Both these teams are very good, two top 10 teams in the state. Good defenses, not good but above average on offense. Boone Co needs to hit thier shoots and take care of the ball. Holmes crash the boards for put backs on offense, and score in transition. Both teams can play 1/2 court. I am taking Boone Co because of thier interior passing.

Holmes might be a better shot from the outside, not sure about the rebounding, but besides that Boone County should be better at everything else. Boone County by 9 pts.

I am sure most people expected Boone to have more than 4 losses and Nobody thought going into the season that the Rebels would be on top of the region! I can see your point it, Cov-Holmes has been either 1-2 in the State most polls this year. I'd like to think it was a close race for coach of the year in the 9th.

Congrats to Riley. I am sure coach Henley has had to work his butt of to get his team to where they are at. But I would have proabley went with the Boone County coach. At the beginning of the year most people wouldn't admitt they were the 2nd best team in the region and even to this day they dont get much respect, yet they are right there with Cov-Holmes!

Hopefully Boone Co just had a bad game against Highlands earlier in the season, but I consider this game a coinflip, which is also how I would view a Boone/Holmes game if both teams get there, I sure hope they do!

I agree with ACH Baseball to not take John Hardin lightly. We are the favorite to win this game, But lets not forget what happen to us last year when Central Hardin came out and hit almost everything they threw up the 1st half. John Hardin is good on D in the passing lanes. Good scoring in transition. White had his way with the smaller LaRue Co team.

Beechwood had the 3rd best record in the region at 16-4. Ryle proabely better than thier record, but thier record was 9-6 in the region. Boone County second opponent Highlands has the 4th best record in the region at 13-5, and most people on this board had them rated either the 2nd or 3rd best team in the region. Boone County definately had the tougher draw! But that is just the luck of the draw, it's not a negative on Holmes.

Holmes had one loss in the region, Boone Co had one loss in the region. Boone won the regular season matchup, if they seeded the 9th region tournment Boone County would be the #1 seed. Who do you think Boone Co has a better chance of beating Highlands or Holmes, I'll bet you they would rather play Holmes than Highlands!
