Great game for the Royals today without the services of Keith Downing. Jordan Gilbert, Justin Lang and Bradley Lang all played well off of the bench. I thought the j.v. kids did a great job during the second quarter. Good luck next week!!

Deming won the first match up at St. Pat in a close one. What are your thoughts on the second match up?

I notice on their schedule that Riverside Christian comes to Fleming Co on Tuesday night. That might be an interesting game to attend.

I'm not sure why everyone seems to think that Custard played bad. I thought he was the best player on the floor TONIGHT. To address the above statement, in my opinion, if u remove one key player from the floor on any team, they play different. Look at how Deming has been performing without Rex Schalch who comes in as the 6th man, Keith Downing was a starter. I will not make any excuses for tonight Royals performance, they didn't play well. Everyone should know that Reitz is a great coach who will have his team prepared and Mason Co will get everyone's best game. They must come prepared to play no matter who the opponent is. Tonight I just don't think that happened.

Okay, I had to come back to ask a question. Is this a nice way of putting that the reason the Harrison fans didn't turn out was because they were only playing Deming? If so then I am insulted. Fans usally turn out when teams are playing a district foe, especially since their first scheduled matchup was cancelled. If that is the case, hopefully they will turn out in droves to see them play the defending state champion on Saturday.:irked: Papa your summary is correct. Deming had no answer for #23, Custard I believe his name is. He could basically score at will.

Hopefully the lack of attendance was just because it was New Year's Day and we can expect to see Bred's fans in attendance on Saturday.

The Black Devils have a nice little team but in order for them to be successful, they must become more agressive on defense. Defense creates offense!! Tonight there was very little defense and rebounding was terrible. They need to be patient and work for a good shot, not the first one down the floor with the ball shoot offense that obviously didn't work well tonight. This team is better than the way they are playing right now. On another note, where are the Harrison County fans? The following for the Breds tonight was rather embarassing! These kids deserve more support from their community than what I saw tonight. Deming's crowd was great! Get Well Soon Rex Schalch! Your team needs you!

Deming needs to play more team ball and less me ball. They might when more games.

Okay, I'm not a rocket scientist but I can't make tead nor tails from that schedule. Can someone please just tell me when Deming plays again? I might make the trip up to watch.

Deming needs better defensive pressure, you can't leave any Brossart team open for threes. When you have the biggest kid on the floor on your team, then feed him the ball. They need to utilize Grause more in order to beat better teams. These areas must be improved before tourny time. They were also playing without Rex Schalch tonight. He usually gives the team a spark coming in as the 6th man. The game was a little closer than the score appears. They kind of gave up at the end and let Brossart have some easy shots.

Is this game on Ch. 27 or on CWkyt?

Coach Sims is a Mason grad. The j.v. comes in early tonight, Mason by as many as Coach O'Hearn wants. IF the game is played at all!

Im kind of confused by this. Outside of the student section, the other parts of the visitors side of the gym was a very mixed crowd. I sat one section over from the kids and had CCH fans around me. Since the home side is taken up by the cheering section and the Notre Dame section, I assume their parents must sit somewhere? I don't think that this statement is appropriate unless you know for a fact who was drinking and if that is the case take it up with a cop.

I don't believe that GRC will need Stencil to win this one. Has the weather had any affect on this game?

Congrats to the Royals! Just see what happens when you play as a team!! Just a note, Ryan Hamm played, he did not start and probably didn't see near as many minutes as he will when he is back 100%. Cov Cath's cheering section is very entertaining and it was great to see so many kids from Mason make the trip as well. I love to see the students supporting each other. Great job kids!!!!

Deming wins their opener at home versus Augusta. What are the thoughts about their next game at Bourbon Co. on Friday?

Downing will be back. Hamm is still questionable. Gilbert is injured and Middleton is sick. If the same Royal team that showed up last night arrives in Covington on Friday this one will be ugly.

Saw Bo again last night. Sorry, nothing has changed about my opinion of him.

As with many other of the fellow posters on this thread, I have not seen one excuse from the Mason County fans but I have seen several facts. Fact 1the royals got outplayed. Fact 2, Middleton had a bad game, Setty didn't have a good game, Downing and Hamm didn't play at all. Barner played a decent first half. I would be willing to bet that if you remove 2 starters from any other team in the state, then the expectations would have been much different. I thought the best player on the floor for the royals during this game was Neal Pawsat. This game was ugly from beginning to end. With that said, my guess is that if you take a poll of most of the Mason County faithful, they would agree with this. Why should any of us complain or make excuses, this program has won 2 state championships in the last 5 years and throw in a runner up trophy to boot. If the royals didn't win a game all year (which they will) how could you possibly make excuses or complain about a program with these accomplishments? I usually enjoy reading comments about games and critisms both good and bad but this statement was just ugly.

Alright, I'll take the bait. But at least at the fieldhouse you can walk behind the scorer's table without going out on the playing floor. But I guess you can hop the kiddies over the seats to take them to the bathroom like I did this year! Oh and my vote for the prettiest potties has to go to that new MCHS arena!:lol:
