  1. Hearing a former college coach might be the front runner for the job?
  2. Oh I am fine. Just shows the true ineptitude of those that were part of the hiring process. How you cannot view a coordinator at the collegiate level being as good or better than a high school coach still befuddles me.
  3. The state of Kentucky seems to always be in the line of fire anymore. Not a good feeling. Still overcast, raining and cold in NKY.
  4. In NKY we are still under cloud cover.
  5. I am with you on this topic. Each sport needs to find a way to get recent high school and college grads to give back by becoming an official. Perhaps classes could be offered at the high school and collegiate level that include the actual tests so these kids are ready to go. I would also include the AD in the people listed. Hold meeting at beginning of each sport season with coaches and parents to explain expectations then hold them to it. Just some random thoughts.
  6. I will add to this. My son could have gone the larger school route as a walk on and hope for a chance to play or go smaller and get opportunity to play immediately. Turns out started right away and had a great 4 years at Lindsey Wilson. Unfortunately for him, his eligibility was up one year too soon as they won the Nati the following year.
  7. I said during warmups that if Vinson plays as good as he was in pregame he might go for 40. Nice all around game by both teams. NCC looked much different than the first game to which I commented that I did not like the style of play that night. They played hard on defense and made Highlands earn it. Unsung hero of the night for me was Vinny Listerman. Kid played with a lot of savvy and intensity. Pretty obvious the Eaglin kid was coming off an injury and just needed a couple more weeks of prep time to get the legs back and he would have been a major force in the game.
  8. Maybe I should try and expound on it. Player fouls out, teams go to benches and player that fouled out is amongst the 5 players on the floor when they return. Then a sub was “horned” into the game. Same player again entered the game when benches were emptied with about 20 seconds to go. Are these technical fouls?
  9. Since you are talking about me, I have no sense of entitlement. As I have said many times, just did not care for the hire. Biggest reason is fact that Bob is closer to retirement than coaching another decade. I stand by what I said also that his son should not be calling the offense because of inexperience and I think at times it showed during the course of the year.
  10. So how many of the coaches that were in the program last year are “in the building?”
  11. I have heard the same. So why did these guys leave?
  12. The problem as I see it is the school system as a whole. That is from the Super on down. A plan needs to be developed system wide and followed. Discipline needs to be restored and kids and parents held accountable. Dayton seems to have turned things around with strong leadership in place and Ludlow has been doing it for years. The kids are there, they need to be talked to at a young age and coached up to play the game, but hold them accountable. COVID really changed the landscape, but things can improve with strong leadership at the top with whom the teachers follow and get support from. Result is a win win for all involved.
  13. Big question for those closer to the program. Do they want coach to have high school head coaching experience or would they accept a college coach?
  14. Didn’t lime the hire to start to be honest.
  15. That will NEVER happen and you can write that down and circle it.
