I will put one out there. The 1982 Highlands team opened against Christian County in the Recreation Bowl in Mt Sterling. Each went on to win the 3A and 4A titles respectively. This was the only blemish on Christian County’s record that year and Highlands became the first team in Kentucky Football history to go 15-0.

What you have here is an infusion of young talent that plays the game hard night in and night out. That makes the older guys either step up their game or get passed over. Also shows that paying guys big bucks is not always the answer. Adding Delacruz did what I thought it would. Now need to add Encarnacion to lineup and see what happens.

How will Harney be eligible? Did he not play varsity sports at Beechwood?

This kid will not be a shortstop at big league level. Just like Eric Davis he will be converted to the outfield. McClain stays at short, India stays at second, Steer moves back over to third and Senzel stays in outfield or plays a utility role. My hope is they don’t cater to a 39 year old first baseman to upset what they have going on right now. Infusing Elly into lineup now might be the thing that pushes them into a contending position for a weak division.

So any word on this position? Might Alex Dean be an option or Nick Breslin?

The horses in question were not euthanized. They died on the track at conclusion of race. I too have been around the track for 50 years also.

Horses were not in such bad shape. Happens all the time in racing. Horses also get injured often and not always fatal. Just another opportunity for those that want to protest everything to complain.

He did not play QB at 8th grade level except for a handful of snaps. From all accounts he really matured over the last year and good things should be coming his way with hard work. So let's hear more about the scrimmage.
